I disagree Hornaday was never a real talent in the cup series and you need somebody to teach the yungers coming in. If Kyle wasn't so damn arrogent he might have learned something. He is the most talented driver in the cup but that talent isn't consistant and I fear he throwa allot away

Dude he was put in AJ goddamn Foyt's car. It was as close to a start-and-park team as you could call one in the early 2000s. Any GOOD car that Hornaday ever got put in, he won immediately. He's raced the trucks since the early 90s and won 50 races and 4 championships for five different teams. When someone gave him a shot in Nationwide, he ran in the top 5 and won races, for Hendrick, Kevin Harvick, DEI, and even that old Dr Pepper car for half a season. The old man can get it done. He was just never given the equipment in Cup and decided to go back to what was fun for him.
Turner Motorsports and the #32 team welcome Ron Hornaday, Jr. as he pilots the Dollar General Chevy this weekend at Phoenix International Raceway. Hornaday is making his first NASCAR Nationwide Series start for Turner Motorsports. Hornaday will make his 11th NNS start at the track and has notched three top-five and six top-10 finishes in 10 previous starts along with 103 laps led. He owns an average starting position of 16.5 with an average finish of 14.6. James Buescher will be driving the #30 Exide Chevrolet. This weekend's race at Phoenix International Raceway will mark Buescher's 10th NASCAR Nationwide Series start of the 2011 season. Ricky Carmichael will be driving the #34-Monster Energy Chevrolet at Phoenix. Carmichael will attempt to make his second NNS start at PIR in Saturday's WYPALL 200
That makes him an even bigger idiot, crashing a start and park car weekly..
Right, an AJ Foyt IV put it in the top 5 every week... The cars were so awful he could barely make it around a corner? It's not like the other drivers of the #14 did much better. At least he got a top 10 out of it.
Yeah he's great all right, which is why he swaps teams all the time.
He swaps teams because they all shut down... Hendrick shut down the Nationwide 5 car, so he moved... Childress shut down the Nationwide 2 car, so he moved... Hendrick shut down their Truck operation, so he moved... Harvick's shutting his down now, too. And he won driving for all of them. No different than lots of other Truck/Nationwide drivers, come to think of it. Teams close down every season.
He's so good I bet the reason why he's not running cup is he's good enough to turn down the countless offers he's had from Hendrick and Rouch.
Because he's 52 years old and his name isn't Mark Martin? His "shot" at Cup happened right around the time teams were obsessing over getting 18-20 year old rdivers.
On a brighter note: at least not counting Cup drivers in the points is giving us two new champs (most likely) in Austin Dillon and Ricky Stenhouse. But just think how potentially close we were to having two champions crowned with no wins (Buescher, Sadler), thanks to Cup guys taking most of the wins. Wonder how NASCAR would've defended their system then....
By the way, how do you win 4 championships for 5 teams? Give 2 of them 1/2 a championship each?
Incorrect wording there. He drove for 5 different teams, and in that time won 4 championships. Actually I think it was six teams.
LOL .. forget about who u like as a driver .......... penalizine K.B is not the issue ...penalize the OWNER ..the CAR should have been scratched for the following race....... there was no need to do that under caution ... for ANY DRIVER ...that way the Sponser can drop out ..............
When Tony was driving for that team , it was See YA ..or smarten up !!! and he has since left ..... sooo take it from there ..........
