Just going off how the race has been run the past couple of years, and the rumblings of the LM class in the area in general, I can see it going to straight-up 300 laps within the next couple of seasons. If I had a team out there, I'd be preparing for that sooner rather than later. Also, depending on how things work out elsewhere, I can see the track deciding to run weekly past Labor Day weekend again in the next while as well...

I really don't have a problem with 300 laps but I think the fueling needs to be done under a comp yellow no other changes allowed.
Now that being said only fuel tire changes and chassis changes need to be done under yellow or green get the pit crews involved and make for a better show for the fans without taking the chance of someone getting burned.

The idea of running after a weekly show after Labour Day I can see happen as the weather after the Labour Day weekend the last couple of years has been beautiful  tempatures in the 70's.You could actually run until Thanksgiving.Question when would you run Fridays or Saturdays.I think back in the late 70's early 80's Delaware ran Saturday after noons. As for the APC300 possibly going straight up that would be a good move as per eariler comments from (racer43 & myself). The word out in the LM class is that a lot of drivers donot like the format and they would rather have as you put it straight up 300 laps with time trials to set the field.Management I would say this year they would have been disappointed with the car count as only 33 cars showed up to race considering they had hoped for 40-50 cars as their confirmed 3 days before the race was 38 cars plus.Reason for no show possible wrecks the night before at other tracks or some might have thought is it worth the cost of fuel to drive to Delaware and if you have a problem there to make $300.00 which was the lowest you could have made.Sure the $10,000.00 to win is great but maybe the track could take a look at payouts and make it good for everybody as the payout looks top heavy as the top 8 made $1000.00 to $10,000.00 while positions 9 back to last car made $975.00 to $300.00 (cars 24th to last place car). This is a Great Race Weekend a little more tinkering and you never know you could have what it used to be (Big car fields & large crowds).
