Forget what the chassis looks like being stock or not. as far as i am concerned non of the cars out there are stock with shoe box looking hood scoops, the chopped tops, the nova bumpers etc. my dad and I did not work three months straight 7- 12 am to get this shot down and for being a secret. The shop door was open as long that we were there.
Would you rather have cars that look like enduros now of which no one under 10 know what the hell a nova is or 2010 camaro of which they can establish as a "transformers" car.
No one is saying it isn't a great looking car and no one doubts that it took a lot of work. Still haven't heard is this car going to be a legal SS for 2011 and if so what rules have to be rewritten to make it legal to run at Delaware? Right now a 2010 model year car is not allowed as the rules are written. I don't even want to get into the chassis as I would not know what I am talking about but as an interested fan I agree cars like you have built would be interesting to watch. This discussion went on in the future of SS thread for 6 pages.
Sorry maybe did not phrase that right .not implying anyone was trying to cheat only that no one has ever done a measurement on our rear clip including myself so how do i know if it is really legal. this is where my concern is with any none big three front clip that no!!one will ever tech it properly and that will be the slow demise of the class because a tweak here and a tweak there starts to add up to no consistancy in the rules .The body looks great and if they are to be built to fit any of the old chassis the way i was told the day I let them measure our car for fit I think it could be good to have the new with the old.I think this must be a dimes wurth.
I don't think it is the bodies that are in question, but rather the chassis. I have no knowledge on chassis' what is legal for SS and what is not. I just know that this is where the real bone of contention comes in. The bodies look awesome, but will definitely change the look of the SS class.
This car looks like it will get it's beginning, drop in a 604 eventually... the Late M 's a bigger Motor ?? Need a track to do this???
They do have body jigs for plastic body rules ???
i understand that will change the look of your ss class, but why switch to fiberglass???? we run steel bodied cars at sunset, and there is an '09 implala, '09 300c and '09 mustang all steel, and no fiberglass or plastic allowed other then bumper covers, so why do you want 20 camaros and mustangs or whatever late model body you want, so that they all look the same, when you could have 10 or so that arent the same at all and maybe 10 camaros and novas??? it seperates your class yes, but allowing fiberglass will make them all look the same, steel bodies take effort to build and hang so they look right which also makes them different, its just a shame to see such a great class of cars get destroyed by fiberglass junk. go run late models if you want a fiberglass body.... even super late models run aluminum bodies which takes lots of effort, cause they are all hand crafted, most anyway. also how many ss guys repair fiberglass, you know how much fun and itchy is it, compared to steel???? dont make the change, it will make two classes look identical in the fans eyes....
