Ok guys you're getting the "going to work in the morning" version tonight. Word's probably gotten around but I'm proud to report that some of the CRO faithful found their way to victory lane tonight. Congratulations to Jim and Jake Ott in their first ever Delaware feature win! Tonight's report will be in green in honor of that. Demar Aggregates TrucksThe truck feature was as always a spirited affair. 16-Rijnen started on the front row and never relinquished the spot...but not for lack of challengers. The feature started with lots of 2-3 wide craziness that was capped by 56-Showler making a nutso banzai run into turn 3 that created all kinds of havoc. He got into 77-Zagarodny and Zag got into 82 McCaw and McCaw almost drove up and over the 77 truck. This was in the middle of a huge pack of trucks and just went to show that in the truck division, you have to actually succeed in taking out half the field in one swipe before they throw the black at you. (Almost doesn't count...apparently.)This left Showler in 2nd and pushing Rijnen to the edge. But it wasnt to last as Showler slowed up by the 10 lap mark and this left 33-Fothergill in 2nd. Rijnen put on a clinic on how to make your truck as wide as possible, and it was a whale of a race as Fothergill threw everything he had at Rijnen in the closing laps, even pulling alongside a couple times, both inside and out. Meanwhile McCaw and Bloemendal are putting on the same kind of race for 3rd...until McCaw finally muscles it past the 01 truck to take the spot. It was a last lap that had the crowd on their feet as Fothergill made one last try at getting around on the high side, but no dice. Coming off of 4 Rijnen's still out front by a couple of feet. Great great finish, and a clean one. Great stuff by both drivers, and its always a treat to see two seasoned warriors go at it like that without wrecking one another. That was worth the price of admission alone.---------------------------------------------------------------------- Super Stock Hey tonight was Jake Ott's night to shine as he started on the pole and led front to back. In the early going, the battle was for 2nd between 77-Lake and 7-Shields. Lake finally made the pass and Shields drifted high allowing 11-Lidster to get through as well. By lap 8 Lidster is by Lake and setting his sights on Ott, who's opened up a considerable lead. It takes a while and by lap 22 Lidsters at least in shouting distance when he suddenly goes around in a hail of sparks on the frontstretch while his tire bounces and rolls all the way down to turn 1.Now the field is bunched up again with Ott in front, Lake challenging, and 84-Smith right on Lake's bumper. Lake almost gets Ott on the restart but caution flies again for 04-Humphreys, around in the same spot Lidster did. This sets up a green-white checker and its tight with Lake right there. Theres another mishap when Sheilds comes off of 4 and spins onto pit lane almost getting the end of the inner wall, but manages to veer onto pit road before hitting the inside wall. Sharpie lets it go and has caution in hand when Sheilds fires it and gets out of the way. No caution and the big 1st win to Jake Ott, with a hard fouight 2nd for Lake! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Late ModelLate Models had a great field tonight as a few of our wandering minstrels were in attendance tonight, such as Jay Doerr, Cole Powell, Dion Verhoeven, and Mark Watson were there to round things out. The feature starts with Vehoeven on the point with Lindsay alongside, follwed by Box, Sheridan, Watson and Thompson. Verhoeven jumps in front with Lindsay hard on his bumper. You can tell Lindsay wants it bad as Lindsay goes to work early. But Verhoeven knows how to keep it pointed in the right direction and manages to stay out front. There's a mishap involving Thompson early on, spinning in turn 2 to bring out caution on lap 7. At the restart, Verhoeven, Lindsay, Sheridan and Watson form up the lead string and begin to run on the feild At one point, Watson pulls out alongside Sheridan and takes 3rd, but Sheridan falls back slightly, and Gresel and Robblee are past him too. 77 and 20 are in front all by themselves but now Watson is closing the gap very quickly. By the halfway, Watson is knocking on Lindsays bumper. There's a scramble as they come up on lap traffic. 33-Grover is there and he knows enough to get out of the way, but someone forgot to tell the 35 car (someone told me its a Jacques) 35, also a lappped car, decided to pull out to pass Grover just as the leaders got to them. Lindsay gets alongside Verhoven from this and its almost a mishap right there but Verhoeven still hangs on. Black flag for the 35 for not heeding the passing flag. Now by lap 26, Robblee is up into the fray. Sheridan's still there, but its apparent something's not quite right on the 52. Robblee gets by him at the same ti...

All I can add is door slamming doesn't work so hot in the SS as it does in the trucks we've seen it and been in it and it doesn't work. I can see a guy being over zealous but the SS cars are NOT trucks and heavy contact leads t oheavy damage...Something to think about

Big shout out to the 60 team.... great job guys!!!

All three winners last night from the front row.... I hope they repave the track soon.

Repave the track the big question ? I think it would stage the answer to a lot of problems and questions people have on Delaware into the next year. Improvement has been shown on the top of the hill this year and more could come with a first class 2 strong lane track. Knowing the answer will be better sooner than later for anyone with concern.
