Exactly, changes every single year are expensive, ive chased it for 3 years, change this change that, and when I did speak up nothing happened, as did other speak up im sure.

Case in point this year exhaust, spacer plate, rims, tires to name some, shit that wasn't broken, but has cost money, alot of money, yes you can run old 7" tires, i do because i cant afford to drop 500+ on a new set of tires, then rims if i decide to not use my 7" rims, exhaust was all new pipe from to back, plus the reductions from 3"-2 1/4 etc, that shit aint free or cheap if you dont have sponsors or little ones that dont give much.

Ball park figures just on those 3 things "IF" you baught new mufflers (2 1/4 in/out), new tires and rims, spacer plate, thats already 1600-1700$ just to get legal, and i dont know about you but i have a fairly decent job, but by time i pay the bills there isnt much left to drop 1700$ into a race car just to go race without a sponsor(s)

I know what you guys are talking, When my first little one was born, my brother and I decided it was time to hang it up, like you said, it's bad enough chasing down the guys with money, now your spending what you need to get faster on just trying to become legal. And there you have it Delaware Officials, here's 2 trucks sitting because of needless rule changes. Again your cutting your own throats, wasting your time and money on new gimmicks to get people in the stands, when all you have to do is LISTEN to the guys on the track, not just the guys with money but all of the guys and girls (sorry).

As a way of continuing to participate in the discussion: I think that before we rip too heavily into the organization here, it's helpful to not necessarily think of Delaware Speedway as a big block, but instead to recognize some historical context of what the present organization deals with across all divisions.

The current Delaware Speedway operation inherited some of the rules legacy issues and policies that are at work here, especially when we're looking long-term.  This isn't to throw the previous operation under the bus, but it is to say there is a major difference in how the speedway operates today compared to even three years ago - - a productive discussion needs to recognize this.  We can look at speedway legacy policies from years and decades past, but such discussion does not really provide any valuable information that isn't already known.

For example, if we are looking at the development of a division, such as the enduro, and extending back 10 years you may have to go through four sets of ownership to track down the origins of a policy (this is especially true of Enduro, but also valid with the Trucks).  What different ownerships wanted out of the track's divisions has differed over the past decade (I'm a first hand witness to the different policies that have been at work, some for good others for bad - - the trucks are the main example of everything that has been wrong with speedway policy.  Their decline and the reasons for it are not a mystery and have been readily acknowledged by the current track ownership).

To try to throw this at the speedway and suggest that the track is "cutting it's own throat", "creating needless rules changes", "wasting time on new gimmicks", to be frank I'm not sure if you're speaking to the Delaware Speedway of 2013 or the Delaware Speedway of 2009 - - because there is a big difference.

The Delaware Speedway of 2012-2013 came up with the solution to almost every issue discussed on here: an unprecedented three-year rules freeze.  The track regularly talks with competitors - - in fact prior to the V8 Stocks joining in with the trucks every truck competitor from the past 2-3 years was contacted to see what could be done and then contacted again to discuss the introduction of the V8 stocks.  To say consultations are not occurring is not accurate.
