Just wondered if anyone knew how Ryan was feeling after the big hit he took at Toledo on Friday. I watched it on you tube today, and it looked nasty.
Ryan was sore after the wreck (to be expected), but generally fine. The car is a complete write-off. They are hoping to get back on track for Berlin in two weeks, but are not sure about that yet.
We will have a weekly write-up posted on his website shortly in which he talks about the crash, which he calls the hardest of his career. Frankly the video doesn't really do it justice even...Having been to Toledo and seeing just how fast the open wheel cars get around there, I know how hard a hit it really was...Supermodified driver Bobby Bond broke his foot in a hard crash at Toledo that night as well.
To put it in perspective for those who saw the AVSS cars at Delaware, Toledo is only slightly smaller size-wise (they call it a 1/2, but I think it is more like a 7/16), and the track record set Friday night by Jason Blonde is now 12.74. Ryan set the Delaware track record on June 5 at 15.68. Almost 3 seconds faster per lap on a track that is almost the same distance around as Delaware...They FLY at Toledo.
Hey what is it under at you tube PLS

Did the right rear let go? If you pause it at 5.75 sec the car looks like it's already on the ground and it hasn't turned around yet. Man it swapped ends quick. That place is Fast Fast Fast.
