Rough Track

Did anyone happen to hear the comment by the Friday night ISMA feature winner about how rough the track was?

I think we're all excited that Arlen and the DSP staff are finally addressing the issue but I've noticed an awful dip in the track on the front stretch before the start finish line. I didn't want to admit it was really there but it seemed to throw a couple of the supers kinda sideways!

I haven't raced in 5 years so I need some help here, am I imagining this? If not, how bad is it because it seems to throw all divisions around? Could this be attributed to the number of "straight line" accidents I've seen this year on the front stretch?

Don't get me wrong, I love what's being done to our track, it's just that I'm not out there every week anymore so it's hard to tell from the hill how bad it is.

There is defintitely a dip where you stated there is one.  This occurred when the front stretch portion of the race track was replaced this year.  Each track has its idosynchrocies and it's up to the drivers to adjust their driving style for the track they are racing on.  Not to say the dip is right and I am hoping this will be corrected, but from what I have heard, the track was definitely better for the most part this year.  I believe more work is planned for the future to continue to improve the racing surface.

There's definitely been a dip there for a long time, it just seems to have gotten worse with the repaving, not better.

When I drove, I really didn't notice it as much, the worst one was low going into 3 and low coming out of 4. Those two seem to be better but the one on the front stretch seems to have gotten much worse.

Where the dip is makes it very hard to change your driving line, you can't change lanes coming out of 4 to avoid it and even if you could you would break momentum trying to cut the corner and not letting you car drift out to the wall.

I beleive that little dip may have come into play when Watson bobbled and got into Kennedy a few weeks back (That night everyone was mad at him)
