As someone who isn't as tuned to Delaware history as I should be, can someone explain the signifigance of the 28 lap feature?
Thanx in advance.

Dave drove the 28 Super Stock that now his oldest son Kris drives
That was Dave's number in the street stocks all the years he ran. In 2006 we ran a 28 lap feature the week after he passed away. For anyone that was in attendance that night it was a very emotional evening. If you would like to read how alot of people felt about Dave go to www.sparky.on.ca then to perkins race team then click on the 28 decal in the top left hand then go to memories of Dave. Give yourself awhile to read thru the tributes and you will get a good idea of what kind of man he was. Thanks for your interest Ernie. He meant alot to all of us.
I will definitely check your link out. Thank you for the info. Sounds like he was one hell of a great guy! What is it they say.....the measure of a man is not his wealth but the impression he leaves....or something like that.
This line is classic from Andrew Perkins
"The car was Dave's pencil, the track, his canvas. It was fun to watch him drive." 8)
I called Jeff Wilcox today and asked if the SS could run a 28 lap feature this week in memory of Dave and he said they will.
I would like to thank Jeff Wilcox and the Delaware staff you guys truly are a class act.
I hope this is a yearly event that just lets people know how special Dave was.
That is SUPER cool, anybody that got to run with Dave in S.S. has great memories of the guy, we always ran eachother hard, but he was always there to lend a helping hand...wish I had gotten to know him better, but still have some great memories from hanging out at the shop.
