Never met a guy willing to lend a hand more, and literally gave us parts (knowing they were way too cheap) just so we could go racing. It wasn't about the money with Dave.
I think naming the reserve seating after Dave Lawrence would be a commendable thing to do
I too have great memories of Dave. He was a great man and didn't mind a new guy racing enduro hanging out at his shop trying to learn something. He always answered any of my stupid questions with sincerity and was always willing to show me what he was doing to his car and explain why and how it worked on the track. I would like to thank Dave, Heather, Kris and Jo and everyone else that works out of the BT Racing shop for all the help over the years. I've always felt as apart of the family whenever I've been there for whatever reason. You are truly missed Dave.
Sincerely,
Gary Adriaensen
P.s. I completely support the idea of naming the reserved seating section after Dave. I think that would be a great honour and gesture to the Lawrence family.
I also have great memories of Dave, although I didnt know him as well as most of you. I actually spoke to the track management this year about naming the reserved seating section after Dave. He brought so much to the speedway, and I think that would show what he really meant to all of Delaware Speedway. I think it would make his family and team very proud. I also asked about naming each section of our grandstands after a different Delaware driver, and it could be a fan vote. My opinion is that thr Reserved seating should be Reserved for Dave's name. What do you think? Am I way off here?
I'd love to explain to my grandkids why the Superstocks run 28 lap features.
I called Jeff Wilcox today and asked if the SS could run a 28 lap feature this week in memory of Dave and he said they will.
I would like to thank Jeff Wilcox and the Delaware staff you guys truly are a class act.
I hope this is a yearly event that just lets people know how special Dave was.
