Hey Shadow, thanks for going along with me on that post, BUT it wasn't my post.
Hey DB71, miss seeing that spectacular car of yours on a regular basis.

When I used to be a spectator I loved the wrecks.. hated the cautions. Now that I race I don't want anything to do with the wrecks just pure clean hardass racing either watching or participating in.

I have been in the pits and seen a flow of people heading up to the fence because somebody flipped or there is a fire. I can't/don't even look.

Entertainment is what their selling. Wrecks are exciting, big three wide passes mostly causing big wrecks are exciting, fast cars are exciting. Hell chicks pulling their tops up is exciting to some of us, you can bet if they had that going on at DS some of us would be wanting that on Utube. U know who you are.
My point is if your trying to sell a night out to the average joe you have to show them what they want to see. Excitement! To the average joe two cars running side by side in a circle isnt that exciting. What does Nascar show on their highlight reels. Johnson running down Tony trying to save fuel or Edwards taking out a hundred feet of fence at Tona?
Cmon guys we've all wrecked.... it sucks big time.... but its part of it. If the footage helps put butts in the seats to help keep us all having fun at this sport we love then whats the harm, the wrecks already happened.

I think it's all part of it.... as a fan I enjoy all of it, now in saying that I love the close side-by-side racing...... now if an accident is caused by good hard racing....then thats part of it, not stupid wrecking constantly or people taking each other out....thats not the part I go for.

part of the excitment of watching cars race so close together is... A-it could be a photo finish and you don't know who is gonna win  B-you know 1 slip up and there could be a wreck.

I understand as a racer that wrecking is not fun, or cheap. Everyone here makes a good point.  But, we need to remember that there is suposed to be a risk involved in driving a race car.  People want to see the crazy buggers driving around risking their lives (to a point, risking their lives sounds good).  I must say though, watching booky put his car through spots that shouldn't have a needle go through for me is entertainment.
