:)Well Trev you seem to be a fan that truly understands racing and what these teams have to go thru to put on a show ;D.
I agree with the finishing order for the ss. They told us on the radio that the race was over the next caution. So, Darrel decided to bring the car in to possibly save the rim, and save the Delaware crew guys a lot of work cleaning up peices of tire that would have fallen off.
The only situation close to this was #39 modified (Dave McCullough) who fell victim to someone elses mistake on the track, that ended his race. Delaware decided to call the race right then and there (good call, the race was claiming a lot of cars), and flew the checkers the next time the cars came around. The #39 was scored at the rear of the field. Maybe the difference between the situations was fact that they told the ss the race would be over?

Thanks for sharing...but, I direct you back to a post by FromTheStands where the rules for scoring a race, under a variety of circumstances are outlined in black and white.
The key point I took from that is that the radios DO NOT MATTER as far as final decision making is concerned, they merely provide information and support what does matter - the flag stand and corner lights.
Radios DO NOT call the race, the flagman does. Until the checkers are waved the race is NOT over, plain and simple.
Terrible call.
Hey there The Voice. Not sure if you know this, but the guy on the radio every friday night is the same guy who tells the flagman what to do and when to put the corner lights on.
In regards to finishing order for SS. Yes we were told next caution the race is over. OK caution flew, line up goes back to last green flag run. Then any car involved in caution goes to back of field NO IF'S ANDS OR BUTS. Cars invovled 5,76 & 77.Finishing order sould have been 99,60,67,52 & 3. This is why some are so mad. All drivers know this. It's to bad some are just so greedy they will do what ever it takes to for a few extra points knowing full well they were wrongIalso heard that #5 bumber cut the left front tire on #77 then riped open the firewall and broke the cluth pedal. Thats why he propably came in. What goes around comes around.
