Gotta wear a bucket now...pass it along.
(Probably a good rule BTW.)
I'm not one to bump threads... But given the importance of this one, and the fact there seem to be about 5 Barrie vs Sunset threads going at the moment that are shuffling this one down...
I'll just add a bit of content here: Helmets = a good, reasonable precaution on the speedway's part.
Sorry but there seems to be some people with hard heads who like to pick fights over which is the better speedway... I really don't understand why this is such a recurring subject and why just about every post on either one of the boards (Sunset and Barrie) ends up being a battle royal over the eternal question of which is better... What came first the chicken or the egg? Coke or Pepsi? My gang is better than your gang, etc... I know which one I'm going to pick. Wherever I am at that moment in time. Really profound actually.
Anyways the helmet idea is a really good one. When I went to Delaware some guy in a Honda Prelude looped it and totalled his car just getting on the track to line up for King of the Hill. And at Barrie some crazy guy in a 350 S-10 smashed in a Neon's passenger door one night. He could've saved it but his right boot is far too heavy to do that... Things we do to be famous (or infamous) LOL.
we have been told that our king of the hill was not allowed because of insurance,if you can who is the carrier for the track,if need be you can pm that to me. ps 1-helmut $125 1-neck collar-$45 being able to pick our own nose priceless.
helmets are an excellent idea
at our track we just have some old open faced helmets that we used to use for the go karts that we loan to drivers for king of the hill, then they return them when they're finished
excellent safety precaution
