Well it was bound to happen sooner or later ;D The kids seem to have been able to find that thing on occasion when Juice Box was running in the JR'S!

Back straight entrance to the pits.  Was hoping John might have a pic or two of the workers???

Repairs are underway and are expected to be completed by tomorrow.  The incident in question occurred Junior Racing League car hit the light standard (surrounded by tractor tires) across from the tech garage - - the standard then fell down.  There were no injuries.  It is difficult to explain, the pole did not violently crash down, but gradually tipped until it ultimately did hit the ground.  It was one of the strangest things I have ever seen at $5 Wednesdays.

Special thanks to the drivers and parents in the program for their patience throughout the evening, as well as to (Rob Anderton?) the electricians who helped get everything fixed up in great time.

It was a very strange end to an excellent season of racing for the Krown Junior Racing League this year.  Over 30 drivers participated in this year's program, and we look forward to an excellent 2010 season.  http://www.delawarespeedway.com/2009-08-26--JRLFINALE.php

How can a jr car hit a light standard surrounded by tires, and then fall down???

Maybe it is the light standard that is rotten after some years??? Has the track inspected all other lights, or had the insurance carrier look into the safety of the facility?
