I would go with the Cavalier or Sunfire... they just run cheap on gas... and like the other said tons of parts

Cobalt is just a newer Cavalier really. EcoTec mill with direct injection. My dad had the Pontiac version and loves it. 45 MPG at 115KM/H. I thought he was lying until I drove it to T.O.

2010 XFE model Cobalt's claimed 52 MPG with the 2.2L / 5 spd combo. Most journalists stated they got an average of 36 MPG (both figures Hwy). The XFE model came with a super tall 5th gear, helping the MPG game...

The 2010 model claimed a 13% improvement compared to the previous model year...*shrug*... I dunno. If a journalist is getting 36 which is nothing close to 52, how can GM claim any percentage improvement 🙂 It's all a numbers game.

As I understand it, despite these great fuel economy numbers the Cobalt was discontinued for the 2011 model year... go figure..
