NASCAR Sanctioning

I was wondering what everyone's opinion was on whether Delaware should be NASCAR sanctioned or not...

I know for my own team, I feel that flying under the NASCAR flag doesn'treally offer me that much.  My sponsors don't kick out anymore money because of it and I'm pretty sure that I don't receive more points money because of it...

What's your thoughts???

I can't speak from a racer's perspective, but in all I'd say it never made a whole lot of difference from the fan side of the hill. Late models are late models no matter what flag is flying over the speedway. Maybe it sounds better on the advertising end of it?

I do have to wonder if some of the the speedway's special events, such as the NCTS race, the Whelen Modifieds and the Busch Shootout are dependent on that affiliation. I'm betting it is, but couldn't say for sure.

But from a weekly standpoint, no....it doesn't matter. It doesn't change anything on the track.

Hears is my two cents,
I don't see many advantages to the weekly program. We get a nice set of decals for the fender.

We know the NCTS only comes to Nascar tracks, that is a good event.

I would say it is nice to be a "Nascar" driver in the "NASCAR weekly series" but don't see it bringing any thing to the track other than the name for the weekey racing.  Would like to known if they increase the prize money, more than we pay them, and how all that works

NCATS doesn't only go to Nascar tracks, if that were the case they'd only run Delaware and Barrie in Ontario.

I have no idea if the costs to join Nascar for the drivers is compensated in the points fund or not.Isn't there also insurance as part of the package?  I would think for the Track Champion & overall Ontario Champion, there is a benefit.  Maybe not, only the drivers would be able to say for sure. I would miss the Modifieds as they would be gone for sure, if the track was not sanctioned.  NCATS I'm sure would still run there, but I really dont care if they do,  but I know others really enjoy their show.  I'm not sure how it would effect the Summer showdown either.  Boy, I would hate to see that be gone.  Maybe some of the other drivers could comment on its benefits or not.  I just hate to see the track go backwards.  I do think it adds something to the track, especially the NON diehard fans that come out 3 or 4 times a year. Us diehards would go no matter what.....except back to the CASCAR days.
