I see how many would be worried for the Pro's/Con's on this one. But in all reality, I just want to know if I need to spend the money. Either way, I'm still crewing/volunterring my time to racing. As to whether I run another car this year remains to be seen, due to cash flow. Still paying things off, and hoping to get it all sorted out this year. I'm with Sid on this one, we raced at Delly before Nascar sanctioning, and they handed out money pretty much the same way. I can see why the track would drop it, since they can avoid sending money for nothing (my opinion). Other than a few bucks at the end of the year, what did it give us? Pretty sure the points funds were comparable before (correct me if I am wrong).
The owner's silence on this issue speaks volumes. With their silence the owners acknowledge the importance of being a Nascar sanctioned track or they would have told us the track is no longer a Nascar sanctioned track by now.
The Late Model meeting is tonight so might find out then.
Isn't one of the big pluses of being a NASCAR member the insurance? Where will you get insurance if not NASCAR sanctioned. Just wondering.
I'm surprised at the comments here about the NASCAR sanction. It seems all we heard last year from drivers ,etc is that the NASCAR fees were driving cars away. What has changed? It's got to be tough as a track owner to keep up with all the swaying opinions.
