Would love to watch/drive in a minivan race. There was a queen of the hill this year, i think that what it was called, I belive there were several mini vans and a stationwagon in that and it was a good race with no problems, So start a class even if there are only a few races. Could name it the grocery getter series.  😀

That would be fun, but what would make it more fun is if they made it a kick the windows and gut the car class.  Disable the air bags, wear a helmet, seatbelt, and go.  You would once again have a 150 car feild, but I know its not possible with safety crap, but the thought is nice.

The Varney Ministock class was somewhat lax in thier safety years ago and I remeber the Fire and Rescue taking almost an hour to cut a guy free from a frontwheel drive "K-car". His leggs were trapped by the engine being stuffed into the car and it collapsed the firewall. He did get hurt but I never found out how bad.
Sometimes what sounds like fun can turn ugly 😮

I agree with the safety, and it would need to be addressed. There's lots of ways to add bars to these rides. You're right though, safety first. I can remember a G-body folding in on a guy's legs at delaware. Poor guy hit a dead car, and broke both legs on the backstretch. Which is the reason we now run kick bars.

The reason that he broke both of his legs was because his front cross bar was under the steering wheel and it came down on his legs.  I was in that race, they put the car in the tech garage for inspection and that is what they came up with.  Yes the front kickers help alot.
