For the record there will not be any paybacks by the 81 with anyone ... We race for points. All is water under the bridge this will be an awsome race everyone should be pumped up. The McRobert Fuels, Spira , Sauble Falls , CUSW, Overland heating and cooling Ford is ready to go. See eveyone out at the track!
How would a tire rule that counts for track regulars work with the one off guys Jay? Maybe if they reduced it to two new tires and marked everyones four to start the race ensuring that they were scuffed? Don't know just askin'.
Ok i've been thinking about this. I don't see how they can avoid allowing 6 tires if they hope to have any outside competitors join us for the race. According to the rulebook, each team that races at Delaware are allowed a "6 new tire inventory on their first night." and are allowed to add one new one per race night afterward.
So if you keep the tire rules as written for regular competition, you have the "invaders" on all fresh tires, and the regular competitors on old ones. Am I reading this correctly?
Also, I've heard grumbles that the teams that have been saddled with the bigger weight penalty are chewing up tires pretty bad during regular 35 lap features, let alone over the course of 100 laps.
Just being the devil's advocate here....maybe the six new tire thing is a little "fairer" than it sounds. More expensive for sure, but...
Holler back if I've missed something.
Cole Powell will not be racing at Delaware again.
I've heard that before ::)
I love it when guys act like they're the first guy in the world to have a call go against them.
This next part isn't necessarily directed at Cole alone...there's been a bit of this going on this year.
But sometimes you just wanna say "Look if you're a racer, then you wanna race, don't ya? Get a motor that gets your car the weight you want it, keep your nose off other guy's bumpers, learn the new restart line, quit complaining, get in the damn racecar, and go.
And if you don't, its your own loss...all you did was help your competitors gain one more position, plus the fans will still have a good time, and will have exactly ZERO difficulty finding someone else to root for."
Big engines.
Using up tires.
No, never happen.
The whole deal should be separate for the regular season.
No points involved.
Let it stand on its own.
If you offer show up points only, you'll get car count, but add nothing to the show.
