Sure 'new tires' putting stickers on at my shop racing up and down the road they are no longer new. Can't police it without an impound

I may be wrong, I am just throwing it out here for discussion. Someone please prove me wrong and set me straight.  What about fuel?  Last years OSCAAR 75 lap feature came down to a couple of drivers running out of fuel.  Perhaps the half time break is a fuelling opportunity.  100 laps when cautions laps dont count, is there a possibllity of cars having enough fuel?

Weekly racing tire rule makes it strategic Jared, this tire rule makes it more expensive......

1000 bucks in tires alone.... its 100 laps people. Run it straight up, why do we need to stop??

Hope they are going to stick to the two tires for the Showdown as promised in the pre-season meeting. There needs to be respect for the lower budget teams who have made a commitment to run the series at Delaware to support our home track. There are some fine drivers at this track that do not have large budgets for racing. By allowing the six new tires for this weeks 100 lapper they have essentially removed an opportunity to win or place well in the show. Remember this is a points race as well. The goal is to keep the cost of racing down and tires are one way to do this and maintain competitive racing.

some drivers use the gas as their weight limit....Alstar series was 100 laps....Autumn Colours is 100 plus laps it all comes down to strategy and different size fuel tanks...Since they are basically two separate races the payout should be separate races with top 5 payout for overall winners of the combined two races..If you don't put the weight in the fuel tank you can distribute it to other places on the car.....

I guess the easiest way to do it would be to make it a non points race or show up points. Some regulars potentially could not qualify for the feature if we have more than the 30 cars show up. As crazylady said, some teams dont have the same $$ as others and making this a points race with a 6 tire allowance essentially takes those teams out of a chance of finishing well. Whats wrong with a four tire rule? I know $300 isn't a lot to some teams, but that makes a difference to others that are on a tight budget to begin with. I understand your point Mr Hooker, I think we all will run just enough fuel for 60 laps then refuel. However we are dealing with hot cars in a rushed situation, most if not all teams are not equipped with the safety gear required to fuel under those circumstances. I just don't understand the point of the break. Are there cars with fuel cells so small they cant run a 100 laps?? All races in the OSS are 100 laps and we don't have guys running out of fuel. The super late race Jared is talking about was scheduled for 75 laps but if you ask those that ran or watched that event they ran at least 75 laps of caution and guys were not expecting those kind of delays. I suspect they didn't put enough fuel in to start with, not that they had their cells filled right up and ran out.
It is what it is at this point and Im sure it will be a great show for the fans, so I guess thats all that matters.
