Its all over Facebook now. Apparently Jamie Ramsay has passed away after losing a fight with Cancer.

Jamie had been the pilot of a couple of different Late Models in the past, mostly known for the Canusa sponsored #42. He had also been a competitor in Street/Super Stock.

Its terrible news. I can't say I knew Jamie well, but we would shoot the BS sometimes in the pits. He was one of the good guys for sure.

If anyone is in the know, can they please let us know everything as far as funeral arrangements and such? I will try and keep everyone posted.

Sad news for sure. I enjoyed watching him race and he appeared to be a good competitor.

Does anyone know what type of cancer he had?

Jamie passed away from lymphoma, diagnosed last May, that didn't respond to three different chemo programs.  He requested that he be cremated and that the memorial service not be held until after March 4 since two of his very close friends and a family member will be away next week.  Visitation will be at Bieman Funeral Home, 3970 Hamilton Rd. (noth-east corner of Hamilton Road and Bridge St. - the most westerly traffic light) in Dorchester on Monday, March 4, 2013 from 2:00 - 4:00 and 6:00 -9:00.  A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, March 5, 2013  at 1:00 P.M. at the Dorchester Community Church on Catherine St. in Dorchester.  Catherine St. is the main east-west street on the NORTH side of the river and the church building is located just west of the "old" village between St. David's Separate School and Northdale Elementary School.  It's not a traditional church building but rather a futuristic white structure with rounded roofs and few windows.  It sits back in from the road a bit and is very distinctive, making it easy to locate.
