I agree, I could see a possible reason to complain if they lowered the purse and added a female bonus, but if that's not the case, then don't worry about it.
25_JLM_13hp you have made your position clear . You believe it is OK to pay or give bonus based on gender , race and religion . I believe this practice is not only wrong but illegal .
From the OHRC web site http://www.ohrc.on.ca/en
Under the Ontario Human Rights Code, discrimination because of gender , race or religion (creed) is against the law. Everyone should have access to the same opportunities and benefits, and be treated with equal dignity and respect .
25_JLM_13hp your position would deny male drivers access to benefits that only female drivers would be eligible for . I think that is as clear as i can make it .
I think what Pinecrest is saying 100% logical. Just because women do not engage in racing as much as men does not mean they should be allowed a bonus. Pinecrest has made numerous attempts at comparing and people still see no wrong in it. Well how about this. With every other bonus everyone has a decision other than the random draw I.E make of engine you run. so they are eligable for the bonus. Now if you only get a bonus if your a female that brings in a factor that others cannot be included in making it unfair. What if Delaware decided that only female drivers can run 10 in slicks or they can run headers and so on. what would the other drivers have to say about that?
With every other bonus everyone has a decision other than the random draw.......
The decision that you can make, is whether to enter the race or not if it bothers you that much.
Your post makes no sense Mobil1fan . The fact is if Jack wins he gets $ 600 if Jill wins she gets $ 1100 . I don't know what you do for a living but i think i will go with what the lawyer told me .
No, the fact is if Jack wins he gets $600 and if Jill wins she gets $600 plus a $500 bonus (of which she meets the qualifications) and legally that makes all the difference in the world.
If Jill wins,Who is responsible for proving that she is in fact female? What if another driver protests that Jill was formerly a Jack, does she/he still qualify for the bonus?Racers have been known to do some rediculous things to win a small prize.
Is a bounty race also a form of discrimination?Everyone qualifies for the bonus except the driver that has the bounty on them.
Good luck to any female driver that attempts to win this huge controversial bonus.
