In the states there is open pro and super as classification. Even 'crate' lates. Just how it is
That actually just goes to prove how screwed up LM racing has gotten.

As a fairly regular follower of US short track goings on via Speed51.com, it seems like its being straightened out over the last couple of years. For a few years it was all over the map down there, with New Smyrna having at least 3 different types of LM/SLM at Speedweeks.
Now it seems to have really settled into SLM and Pro LM, with the major difference being engines. The only thing is, the Pro LM is dominated by McGuenigill Ford crate and the GM ASA crate option...which is a route not being favored up here.
Yeah...from some of the rumblings I heard in the pits on Sunday, it sounds like they'll be pushing harder next year for Delly to be a 604 crate track. I don't have a problem with that, except it might mean rebuilding the division. That takes time and they'd need to contend with some of the bigger guns giving us a pass.
Don't take that as gospel, but that's the word going around.
if you check the rule book, it looks like 2013 will be the last year for the Ford Crate and GM ASA 604 option. Those two killed participation in the past from outside cars whose hometracks did not have this combination in their rule book. (Why bring a knife to a gun fight I was told by one Flamboro driver who I have known for years).
My only trepedation is I wonder if there are other long time fans who go back to the days when the super mods banned everything except the big block GM 454 (467) and it just seemed it was a temporary panacea?
