That yellow flag for Kennedy was only after the hit. He was doing fine getting it off the track, then got tagged by the 99 when he was most of the way off the track....that's the only reason he spun.

Not sure what the deal was on that actually. Almost looked like 99 just wasn't paying attention.

Trev: I think we're talking about two different yellows in quick succession for the ten. I meant the one on the pit road in four where he  was clear of the track. There was no need for a yellow and then the usual five laps of realigning cars.
Something has to be done to homogenize the rules. There were 16 late models that ran at Flamboro Saturday night that couldn't bother participating (Do you think they might if they didn't have to be at Delly's tech barn at 8am the next day?). Maybe try to see if any of the Western NY and Lake Erie Pa cars could run?. Jeff Lancaster could likely tell us what the Hoosier L25/L48's are like in comparison to the Hoosier 980s Delly uses. Could they be permitted with a weight penalty for example? Could the AR Flammy tire be permitted. Has this whole mess been created by tracks becoming behoven to tire companies for points funds? For once I'd love to see these big shows be opened up, otherwise they just become a long distance weekly show.

History says no. Those guys just aren't interested. Delly once put out a questionnaire about what it would take to get visiting drivers interested. I posted it on the Flamboro board. They deleted it...and the board isn't run by the track.

Sure...it could. In fact they could just say maximum 6 tires from whatever home track you came from. But...that's politics for ya.

I somewhat agree. The Labor Day race, call it the Great Canadian Race if thats how you want to hype it, has lost some of its prestige since it has essentially become just that...a showcase for the guys who run there every week. Problem is, from the way I see it, that's just how they want it.

On the other hand...I myself had a hell of a good time and personally thought it was a pretty good race. I liked that they started them straight up...looks like they finally figured out that inversions cause more garbage than necessary.

And I liked that the field wasn't rediculously huge. Most all the racing people I talked to agreed that they'd rather see a stout field of 24 cars, than a 32 car field where the back half is part timers, slowpokes, and old sportsmen cars. Weed out the riff raff and you'll have a good race. Whether the drivers are local or if they come from NY or Mich is irrelevant.

Not disagreeing with your observation, in fact I agree with a lot of your points. Just offering a different perspective.

US drivers add a different element to the race, it's the unknown factor that spurs interest. As far as "old sportsman cars" watch your mouth Trevor. No need to be nasty 😉

Maybe for us hardcores....but I think it would create exactly zero difference to the top gate numbers.

Seriously, you know what I mean. Sportsman are great racing other sportsman...just not as field fillers for "pro" late models.

(apparently we call them "pro" now...not sure who the hell coined that phrase. Blowing all that dough just to basically lose money every week doesn't sound "pro" to me.  ;))
