Now if they could only come up for a solution to this "extreme hockey mom/dad" problem that has likely led up to this. Say what you want about age limits etc, but it boils down to this: when you're 14, your parents are still ultimately responsible for you.
i think theyre too far out of the ballpark on their view of what happened to fix, i would have expected a totally different statement from parents, which i think should lead to them being gone, if they think there was nothing wrong with what went on.
Insight into the mindset can be herd on FM 96 where Mr. Ken Jacobs is advertising his business, and the final description is "the shadiest guy in town"..
??? I haven't heard if any thing else has been done about the # 1 and # 8 car at Delaware ,any one hear anything Friday night.. just wondering .
I would like to clarify one thing and add another. On May 27th when my car was severely wrecked after Jaxon lost control of his car I did go over and talk to him. I didn't lecture him, I didn't say a negative word to him. He apologized and that was good enough for me. That's why I stuck my hand in the window and let him know everything was okay. Yes I forgave him, and yes it was over between us.
Also after the feature while I was in the grandstand his Mom came to me and thanked me for not going nuts on her son, but instead showing forgiveness. She said she thought if there was anything both boys learned that night, it was the importance of grace.
I don't know the family at all, but I felt the Mom was sincere. She was the only one, including the dad and boys, who said anything to me. I would be reluctant to include her in any of this in terms of justifying it, I just don't see it.
As for the fight and how it went down, no fighting should be tolerated ever, it's too dangerous. Once all the info comes out, I'm sure a proper penalty will be applied, and on top of that a peace bond for 2013 would need to be included.
I didn't catch anything about that last night from the announcers. I don't think they were talking about it. I'd guess (and its just a guess on my part) they'll be back next week though. Who knows?
Personally, I'd like to see it all done and over with. I don't mind a little drama at the racetrack, but when the negativity goes on too long it starts to weigh heavy.
The racing last night was pretty awesome, I'd kinda like to focus on that and everything leading up to the Keystone 200. This Jacobs stuff is old news.
Let them come back next week, and as Gary suggested, put a peace bond on every member of that team for a year...hell, maybe two. Any confrontations /shenanigans /posturing /shouting matches or anything in the least bit unsportsmanlike, and you're out for 365 days. Case closed.
Lets be done with this. There's 2 decent cars that are sitting on trailers instead of on the track, and that's never a good thing.
I agree!
While I enjoy this CRO website, I think sometimes people like to get all negative about certain drivers and go on and on and never let up! They make them out to be monsters! That's definitely the negative part about these internet blogs. Years ago, if people had a beef they talked, maybe threw a few punches and after a few weeks it was over, they were drinking beer together at the top of the hill. There has been fighting in racing for years, even as far back as the 1950's. Racers in the heat of the moment make mistakes.....let's not make them all out to be bad people because they are not!
There has been many blogs on here that was just ridiculous against certain drivers! We all should take a look at ourselves. Would we act any differently? Probably not!
There are passive drivers and there are aggressive drivers, good drivers and not so good drivers but remember............a driver that you don't like, might have hundreds of other people that think he's wonderful. It's a matter of opinion!! So often people voice their opinion on here and they weren't even there and are listening to rumours, with information that is just not true!! So let's try and keep it positive!!
Just my opinion................lol
