Does anyone know how the points system works and what is worth what? the reason I ask is because yesterday when my hubby and i were looking at the points, we got roughly 240 points, but several racers who hadn't even made it into the feature got roughly 200 points. they didn't even take the green flag! Does anyone know why this is? Today it's been changed, but i still don't understand it? Please help 🙂
Race winner receives 200 points. From 199 points for second position, the scores will decrease by one point for each position on down through the feature finish. Points will be awarded only to drivers with registered numbers. Cars will be awarded points based on their final feature finishing position.
I think this implies that the heat races are just for starting position. If you don't make the feature, you will be awarded points but no more than the last place car that starts the feature.
ie - if there were 53 cars starting the feature and you were the last car not making the feature (engine etc. on last lap of quailifier) then you would receive 54th place points.
winning a heat race is worth 100 points, and a 1 point decrease for every position out of first.
winning the 150 feature is worth 200 points with a 1 point decrease with every position out of first..
ex. 5th place in a heat= 95 points
5th place in the feature= 195 points
