the 53 is a 2 piece howe nose with a scoop a wpoiler he rooled out his fenders an put a little on the back,if ot didnt have 1000 rivits showing it would look like any other race car out there,as for the new style cars,i think its great,guys spend big money on the cars now an i think they should be able to run them,only problem i have with them is the fiberglass hoods!

the questions is... how much lighter are the cars pictured above then the original cars

What would "lighter" matter with weight rules applied?

If the fabricated bodies are say 200lbs lighter than a stock body you can place that extra 200lbs where you want it. 

I'm thinking tha would be a huge advantage!  I do lke the look of most of the new bodies tho!  Let guys build the bodies they want aslong as they look good!
