1) reskinning  --- have two chassis ---- metric (coil spring) and leaf spring and use any north american body --- see Barrie's thunder car next generation rules

Couldn't agree with this more.  Why not see some variety.  It IS possible to have the rule stating "no battered cars" and still have some unique-looking combinations.  Towards the end of North Bay Speedway's life, they opened the Thundercars to "any body as long as it's GM to GM , Ford to Ford, etc" ... So we saw a lot of f-bodies running 2nd gen chassis with leaf springs under 3rd gen (80s) Camaro/Firebird bodies... We saw Luminas and late model Monte front ends on metric cars...  As long as it's done with some attempt at smoothness and proportion, why not?  It would certainly get the fans, especially the younger ones, more interested in the variety of cars on the track.

the body is just a skin, does it matter if it matches the frame or engine? Sunsets two best looking cars(in my opinion)is a mustang on a gm chassis, and a chrysler 300 on a gm chassis. It's just a body, not a 200 shot of nitrous! And while you guys are at it, why don't you let your track owners and officials know that at some point it would be cool to have some kind of invitational???? Unless you guys are afraid???? It's ok, we don't bite 🙂

gotta watch how much the body rules are opened up, some of the cars at sunset and barrie look decent, but man o man are there some hack-jobs as well..........I don't think anyone is afraid dodgeguy, cars are allowed to run up to 5 nights on their home track rules, so there you go, 5 invitationals on the nights you choose....

to be honest, if a guy is going to do a hack job putting a body on his car then odds are he has already hacked up what he has already, point is it's just a body. I think going to a fiberglass body on a super stock is retarded. Wrecking yards are full of bodies of any car imaginable. Use some imagination and put something off the wall on them. That was the smartest thing Dilley did for thunder cars and he was rewarded with cool looking cars. Keep them steel bodied, besides, isn't it better to have something that nobody has?

Dodgeguy has a point. I guess if it has four wheels, and meets the rules.... why not run? I'm just saying he makes a valid point.

As long as the body looks decent and more or less original I'm all for it. As far as an invitational, we had one two years ago and only 1 Flammy car came. Like ss33 said you can show up any friday night to run with us and be more then welcome to. Any info you would want as far as gearing etc. just ask.

I would love to come down and run! I didn't know you allowed out of towners like that! Fridays aren't easy, especially with the 4 hr drive, but we will definitely hit one or two next year....maybe if they do the kyle busch thing and have an SS support feature...
