For what it's worth with the talk on handicapping system, last night was not how it will be for the year. With the first night being a draw for starting positions and having fast guys in the first heat, I think the officials kind of played it by ear and did what they thought would be the most entertaining for the fans on opening night. Knowing guys like Fitzpatrick would run away with it if we had to start in 7th, it at least gave us a fighting chance off the start to stay with them. Personally I like the new handicapping system because it finally allows some of the fast guys in the second heats to start better than 10th. I'm just looking forward to next week when we actually have to race our way through the pack. That's what makes it most entertaining for the spectators and personally more fun for the drivers.

And for the record those Super Stock bodies look sweet ...
"Also interesting was Matt Robblee piloting the Grogan 28 car tonight instead of Steve."
It hasn't been the Grogan 28 for the past two years. Look for Matt in the McRobert Fuels, Big Box Mobile 28 for the whole year.
Also remember the rookies were taken from their scheduled starting spots and put to the rear of the field. which moved a bunch of the drivers up.

My bad...sorry.
Looks like I goofed on the way the races are handicapped too. Just getting the winter rust oiff I guess.
I'm definitely curious though about how the Super Stock season is gonna pan out. Just the fact that last year's tip-top runners didn't look like they could even touch some of these new cars might be a cause for concern. Keen to see what the few weeks will bring.
