Delaware May 14 results/news/photos thread (PICK-3 Winner too)

OK Folks, here it is. I'm a little rusty, and its late. But I'll start with my usual pre-ambleI am not a reporter. I only play one on the internet. I do NOT work for Delaware. The views expressed here are only my account of the night's events from a fan's perspective up in the stands. Sometimes I miss stuff and sometimes I get it wrong (Usually when its 4 in the morning and I'm trying to decipher my own chickenscratch) If you find any major discrepancies, please write them out on a 20 dollar bill and send it to CRO. We'll have our complaints department look into it. ;) Faithfully yours,Trevor "Shadowracer" Van Leeuwen Demar Aggregates TrucksTruck Heat 1Truck heat 1 featured the debut of 17-Mickey Brydges and 3-Shae Gemmell, as well as a brand new bright yellow livery for 4-Lonny Thompson and a new red, white and black paint scheme for 88-Sid McDonald. (For those out of the loop, team Ultimate has flipped their truck numbers for the year, with Fothergill sporting the 33 and McDonald sporting the 88, unlike last year) The early going was a 2 truck battle for 1st between 82-McCaw and 88-McDonald. McCaw got out in front to stay but McDonald was knocking on his door the whole way.Final 1st to McCaw, 2nd to McDonald and 3rd to 00-JohnsTruck Heat 2Heat 2 featured the debuts of three new trucks as well, namely 93-Matt Koricina, 57-Gary "Blue Thunder" Triska and 5-Tony Sloetjes.At the start, it was 55-Adriaensen out front followed by 99-Koricina and 33-Fothergill. It didn't take long for Fothergill to challenge however, as he was past Koricina and challenging for the lead by the halfway markers. First caution of the 2010 season flew when 01-Bloemendal and 56-Showler made contact on the backstretch. Bloemendal went around and 16-Hosang plowed into him, caving the right front corner of her truck in. (They got it pounded out for the feature, but it was not to be Kathleen's night) When the checkers flew it was Fothergill in 1st, Adriaensen 2nd and 99-Koricina 3rd.Demar Aggregates Truck Division Feature Well, a hill full of fans came to shake off the winter with some hot racing, and the truck division once again served it up BIG TIME with a no holds barred, don't-blink-or-you'll-miss-something main event. With Eye of the Tiger booming on the mic, they roll them out. The race starts with 99-Koricina on point with 00-Johns alongside, followed by Adrieansen/McDonald, then McCaw/Fothergill, then Showler/77-Zagarodny.Right off the green flag, you can tell everyone wants it bad, and with the pack flying down the backchute, its actually Team Ultimate that suffers the first mishap when teammates Fothergill and McDonald get into one another in the melee and end up falling back to a distant 7th and 8th. Up front its Koricina followed by Johns, Adrieansen, Showler, McCaw and Bloemendal. Unfortunately for Bloemendal, something goes wrong on the truck and he has to bring it in. McDonald is also having trouble: whatever happened on the first lap hurt something on the truck and he ends up in the pits as well. Now at lap 7 your lead pack is still Koricina, Johns, Adrieansen and Showler. McCaw is in 5th but Fothergill has recovered from the first lap mishap and is bearing down hard on McCaw for the 5th spot. 75-Depuis is in 7th and closing in on the lead fray. By lap 11, Fothergill has gotten past McCaw and is now going to work on Showler. Up front, Koricina comes up on a lap truck and Adrieansen splits the difference, going high and coming out side by side with Koricina. Adrieansen completes the pass for 1st but Koricina stays right with him until the caution flies on lap 13 for Hosang who's spun in turn 3. (rough night for the Hosang team)On the restart, Fothergill shoots past Showler and is now drag racing with Johns for 3rd, when another mishap comes, this time for 3-Gemmell who goes hard into the turn 4 wall. Caution.After that restart, Adrieansen is still in front with Koricina 2nd. Fothergill is now past Johns and goes to work on Koricina. Koricina drifts high in 4 and Fothergill scoots by to take 2nd. However, theres a big schmozzle coming out of 2. There's trucks everywhere and Depuis and Clark are sideways on the track. The caution works in Koricina's favor as the order goes to the lap before...thereby giving Koricina her spot back.One failed restart and now Showler is around in turn 2, so another caution. That's at lap 16.Now we get a few laps in. The order is still Adrieansen, Koricina, Fothergill, Johns, and McCaw - with 31-Howard up into 6th. Johns and McCaw are waging a side by side battle for 4th. Fothergill finally gets the move on Koricina to bag 2nd spot, and now has Adrieansen in his crosshairs. A little further back, rookie Matt Koricina is closing in on the fray in 7th spot.Now the worst impact of the night comes and its right on the fronstretch. Showler goes spinning around with a pack bearing down on him. Tr...

The JWO team would like to commend all of our fellow competitors on a GOOD CLEAN race. That's the way we need to run them all. Congrats to PEE WEE good job he and his team did out there.
The JWO team really hates it that the 99 team had such bad luck to get caught up in that deal, Guys if we can help you out let us know! we got a clip for yah and some spindles and lowers. We really hope the 99 team has a change of heart and gets back in this thing.

We are likely done for a while. The driving was way too aggressive for opening night. It looked like the final race for the championship!

I completely agree kind of happy now that the truck was parked with over heating problems. its goin to be a long year if every friday nights goin to be like last night.

I guess on a side note looks like Kyle Delisle won his first feature race at Toledo Speedway on Friday as well so congratulations goes out to him as he raced Delaware last year in Late Models.
