Seriously John?? The CC's are the same as running 4 or 6's in the enduros?? You have a more marketable product in whatever you have been smokin than the chaos cars my friend. Cmon, I luv your enthusiasm on the CC deal but alot of us racing rednecks will just never get it bud. Same as the 90's enduros you say??? OK.... really.... 60 cars driving around barrels, LMAO how are you going to score that mess??? Whats intersting is if you put your enthusiasm towards what has made Delaware Speedway what it is today. Canadas best race track!!! Who knows what could happen??
At Peterboro, the 4/6 guys have their race and the V8 guys have their race. All at the same time. Lemans style as someone said. The 30 guys that already have Camaros and Montes could drop a 4.3 or 3.8 in them.
@JAMR I hit a monte in turn 1 and I drove away with less damage. My cousin damaged the nose on the same Honda, and ruined the metric he ran into.
@John Sorry, I know the Chaos division is your baby. It is exactly what it is (entertainment). I will be the jerk and tell you that is not racing, but it is fun as heck to watch. First there is no payout, and it is not an oval sport. Get over the idea of entry level, and move on John.
@All of us We have discussed this before and Delaware is not pro-active usually. Loads of other tracks have these divisions, and Delaware somewhere loses the forest for the trees. I do not want to see the track ever slow down our big V8 Enduro's. Those guys have worked hard to get where they are, and spent a pile of money doing so. Don't let the idea insurance is crazy priced either. But again, we get rocked with that one regularily. I like our home track, and most of the people there. But this is one area you guys need to wake up on.
I still love these community discussions. Let keep it going. Of course I am a booster for the Chaos Cars: as director of the series, it’s part of my job. It’s also part of my job to promote all racing series, including Enduro and I’m happy to talk about any of those programs (just not all at the same time). I feel there is a fit for everyone at Delaware Speedway to enjoy competition. In this case, what I’m trying to prove to this community right now, is that the direction the Chaos series is going is very proactive, and precisely what this community is asking for.
@dougy109
First there is no payout
This is not correct. The chaos cars DO have a payout structure, in fact, it recently got a bump from a sponsor. It can be reviewed here: http://www.delawarespeedway.com/build-one-today-new-chaos-car-prizing
I think you do raise a good point regarding being proactive, especially with regards to Next Generation Enduro rules, but those changes are history. It was as a response to these rules that I came to the track with the Chaos Car package to start to head possibly towards an old-school enduro event. The seeds were laid for this four cylinder class four years ago with the Chaos Cars. We couldn’t run them on the full speedway until recently, when the car counts came up, and we’re projected to add another 3 cars over the next two races. It is becoming an oval-based series but that being said, it will always be a bit of a circus - - that’s part of the appeal of those first races I saw in the 90s.
@racer43 the event would be scored the same way you score any race (including Endruo): transponders. If the series gets to 50 cars, barrels would no longer be necessary. Obstacle cars would be more present – just as they were in the ‘90s enduro. Jay, I’m not trying to imply that Chaos Cars are the only thing I work on. One of the things I do know, is that a strong entry-level s is one of those things that made the track one of the best around. I believe the Enduro today is fun as it is, the Chaos Cars are on the path to be <<precisely>> the division this thread that this thread is asking for.
I wouldn't want to be the guy in the Honda that gets body slammed against the wall by an out of control Monte.
What about a 4 cylinder Enduro class. A safely built 4 cyl Enduro car could also run in Mini stock or Bomber classes at many other area tracks on weekends when there's no Enduro.
check out the "3 Hours of DaCar" at Sauble it is a growing spectacle using STOCK 4 bangers and is a hoot to watch I think the next one is September.........and it is a real race with a twist of a little bit of a dirt rally run in the infield to slow the cars off of corner 2 plus a fire hose to wet down corner 3 and 4 at the other end also to slow down the cars.........and it is only $5 to get in the Grandstand
