Anyone have inputs to the Hoosier's we run? How many tracks run them, and why did we go away from the radials? Wouldn't it be a better cost effective deal to buy regular radials... say two or three brands/types you would be allowed to run? I'm asking here, not stating.. could this bring some of the competition to a more livable level for guys looking at the mountain of moving up over classes?

I'm no expert, but Lidster did make a few good points on engines (crate vs. built), but I do see the overwhelming advantage of the reliability/parity. But if the classes were on a harder/ durable/ slower tire... maybe it would even a few things up? Also, a rev chip would be less of an issue, if guys couldn't hold it in the corners as easily. Just an idea. Any thoughts?

Hmm I just said My motor has 70 nights worth of racing and still runs strong! 4 seasons old including one hell of a season at Flammy that is over 30 races long including specials! We change the oil regularly using Amsoil 20W50 and WIX Racing filters. I'm not gynaecologist but I'll take a look at it.

Wasn't talking about engines, I was talking about tires. Wesley motorsports spoke of it in another thread, the possiblility of slow down the field a little bit. I don't like the idea honestly, but if counts would go up.... I would be happy. In essence, If you are limited by rubber, you could basically spend a little less to go fast (you would only have so much grip... yes??) That was my idea, not the engines so much. I should have elaborated.

we used to run on the radial t/a's in the street stocks, i LOVED them, tons of life, you could run them forever, everybody was sliding so it helped the top a bit, they went away from them because they wanted the same type of rubber to be laid down by all the Friday night vehicles.

the recaps tires that the super stocks run at sunset are a very long lasting tire.. in the pits last sunday i seen the wear that they get from a set. i do believe they get over a month out of a set..I realize
that the brand new pavement is also a factor on tire wear..
