It all comes down to this: after a full season of competition Delaware Speedway’s 2013 champions will be decided on Friday night.  Although the points leaders are carrying in reasonable points leads into the final night, time and time again drivers have proven that anything can happen.  The stage is set for a dramatic finish to the season starting Friday night at 7:30 pm featuring an extra division of racing with the Late Models, Super Stocks, Trucks, and Famous V8 Stock Muscle Cars all on the card.

===Rookie Driver Fights for the Championship: Coca-Cola Super Stocks===

Fans who think Jeff Showler (#44) of Mt. Elgin has his second consecutive championship in the bag better think again.  Eighteen year-old Branden Verhoeven (#7) of Kerwood has quietly risen through the ranks in his rookie season and now sits positioned at the top challenger to Showler repeating as champion in the class.  Consistently improving throughout the year, he has finished in the top-3 in each of the last four races, finishing second in the most recent competition.  If Verhoeven can pull off his first-ever victory in the series he will be boosted in the standings by an additional ten points, issued to rookies on the occasion of their first win.  The young driver is well within striking range of the defending champ who just last season used rookie bonus to vault himself to the top of the standings and take the championship.  Verhoeven is also locked in a tight battle for the Rookie of the Year title with Shae Gemmell (#3) of Dorchester who is just six points back.

===FT Garage Late Models: A Coronation for Cox?===

Jamie Cox (#22) of Dorchester is a nine-time Open-Wheel Modified champion at the track but has never taken home the Late Model title.  He carries a 17-point lead into the season finale over Matt Pritiko (#21) of London.  Expect a conservative race from Cox as he simply aims for a solid finish.  Pritiko, on the other hand, will be pushing himself to the ragged edge trying to make up every point possible to take advantage should Cox have trouble meeting the objective.

===Demar Aggregates Trucks: Adriaensen Aims to Hold On===

Gary Adriaensen (#55) of Belmont needs to avoid the bad luck he has been experiencing recently if he hopes to hold on and claim his second Demar Aggregates Trucks title.  Brady Smith (#39) of Coldstream is nineteen points back from the defending champion: a sizeable margin in a smaller division.

===Tied for the Lead: Famous V8 Stock Muscle Cars===

Get ready for the battle of the titans when Derek McCullough (#38) of Glencoe and Steve Arrand (#37) of West Lorne go head to head for the V8 Muscle Car championship.  The pair are tied with 252 points each heading into the final competition.  McCullough won the most recent event starting from a prime front row starting position after other competitors were forced to the back with inspection issues in their heat races.  Arrand has win from the second race of the season.  Failure is not an option for either of these drivers: McCullough aims to go back-to-back as champion; Arrand is looking to pull together some success in the V8 Stocks after technical inspection struggles in the Saturday Enduro Series saw him withdraw from Enduro Division competition to focus on his V8 Stock program.  Steve Book (#64) of Brantford and Gary Zwygers (#93) of Cambridge are also both within striking distance to claim the title.
