Shadow Report - Delaware ISMA Supermodified Classic. Night 2Howdy all once again, and welcome. Tonight was night 2 of the Canadian Supermodified Classic, and featured the cars and stars of the International SuperModified Association, as well as our own Super Stocks and an invitational 35 lapper for MRA Open Wheel Modifieds.The night started with an autograph session on the frontstretch for the Supermod drivers, and all were welcome to come down and have an up-close and personal look at these babies. That is an excellent way to start things off and I'm almost hoping that sooner or later our own home divisions might consider doing something like that on the odd Friday night too.And while that was going on, the Super Stock boys were on pit road and waiting to go. Here's most of the JWO racing team. They had a rough night with an incident in practice, as well as losing a wheel on the 1st lap of the feature to send the "it aint easy being green" number 60 hard into the wall again. These guys hustled their butts to have it ready for tonight too after last week's crash that destroyed their front end.Also, we welcomed some special guests from the O, and I'm certain there were more than a few Ohsweken regulars in attendance tonight.Then it was off to the races and we started off with our own Super Stocks. Heat 1 went to 69-Root (first time winner) who came out of nowhere to pass 17-Anderton with 2 to go. Richmond and Humphreys both had to deal with trying to pass Al "Wild-Card" Bowman and ended up in the pits as a result. Heat 2 saw Jake Ott lead till the halfway until passed by winner 76-Reid.Then the MRA boys were up. Big night for them with a number of visiting drivers in attendance, as this was their maiden voyage for an invitational on home soil. Special guests were 31-Adam Adams, 61-Bill Pickford(M), 90-Samantha Jansen(M), 62-Randall Hollingsworth (M), and 1x-Ted Patterson (V), 8-Gary McLean (V), 95-Robert Warnes (M), and 06-Wayne Carson (M) (scoring says Patterson..so not completely sure on the 06) (M=Mosport driver, V=Varney.) 3-Cox took 1 heat, 39-McCullough took the 2nd.Then it was showtime for the big boys! Thank goodness no freaky crashes tonight. Super Stock feature was won by 76-Ried after being followed by 84-Smith all night. Right with them at the end was Hollywood Lake running a strong 3rd, then Lawrence and Richmond. Due to the impending rain, the Supermodifieds went next and managed to get most of the race in before a small sprinkle brought it to a stop with 12 to go. It really was just a small sprinkle and we were racing 5 minutes later. Big win for 35-Summers, with Mike "the Great Canadian Hope" Lichty running second. (McKnight had to race in Oswego tonight, Ryan Coniam scrubbed the wall in a heat, and Sammut was driving the renumbered 70 car and wasn't much of a factor tonight.)Afterward, it was showtime for the MRA mods. The race basically came down to a thriller of a duel between Newman and Cox. Newman got the lead, but Cox was welded to him the entire last half of the race. Cox was going high, going low....couldnt do it. (I thought he was toying with Newman and making a show out of it, but he still hadn't got past on the last lap. Newman was strong tonight. Heard #11 had an issue with the motor last night and #17 let him drive his car re-numbered with the #11.

I would also like to say that the woman (sorry I forget her name) that Delaware has singing the national anthems this year is very good. If they aren't paying her they should be.

I would like to thank Delaware for the Tickets this weekend. Myself and Mark had a BLAST!!! The Supers are truly a wild experience that everyone needs to experience at least once in their lifetime!

I would agree. Andrea started working in the concession stands at the track and started her singing career while working at Delaware. She was good back then, but she is fantastic now!
