Hey Trev, this year, officials have implemented a new rule to make sure everyone is over a set time.
The Rule Book states:
"Break-out: During the feature race any vehicle that breaks a predetermined time per second lap time will have
one half of the payout for that particular event held back until the completion of the next scheduled event that
this teams participates in. In addition to the hold back, for each lap under the predetermined lap the competitor
run will result in a one lap penalty. ( 4 lap under predetermined time will result in a 4 lap penalty of the next
event and all monies withheld will be returned at that time)"

Everyone will have their views on what the speedway is trying to accomplish. But it all circles back to keeping the cars in check, affordable, and to keep enduro as entry level.

24.5 is wayyy too slow as a break out. I believe high 23's are appropriate, because you can hit those under 2 grand. Know your parts, and you can do this. I have proven this, with my overheating boat anchor of a third gen. I was 24.7's with a 4cylinder Honda, and plan a much faster ride this year. I do not disagree with holding the faster guys up, just make it a fair time.

Six years ago, we had a Regal with a roll center lower then a cheap date underpants, a mild cam, and cast flat tops running low 24's.
