I think you are talking about the ticket lines, which up top often swell right at 7:40-7:55 pm which does generate a backup.  One of the side effects of being one of the largest weekly draws for local racing can be what we refer to internally as a "gate rush".  Extra staff are often pulled from other areas to help push get that line pushed as quick as possible.

We are generally, like our fans, not big fans of lines.  While the results are not always immediately noticeable, I can tell you a great deal of effort is spent trying to keep people out of lines and enjoying the races.  Sometimes lines can’t be avoided - - but we do try to combat them with promotions like early-bird toonie hotdogs, online tickets and season passes which help take some of the strain off those lines.

If you saw something specific that could be adjusted to save a bit of time out there - - I’ll certainly take it to the round table.

----

On another note - - I couldn’t go anywhere tonight without being asked about Bone Stocks.  Even I was surprised at how many questions I got about it.  I couldn’t be happier to see how the community is grabbing on to this.  I was also pleased how familiar people were with the updated rules package - - the questions I was getting were pretty detailed and showed that folks have been going over this information seriously.  I printed over 100 rulebooks in preparation for tonight and the souvenir booth reports they are running low and already need more.  If anyone wants a stack of these to hand out to people they know, let me know - - I gave a bunch of demo derby guides to some that were asking to help distribute them.  I can do the same for the Bone Stock package.

Sources also are indicating a sudden surge in car count for tomorrow’s event...  I’m interested to see if it comes to pass, but I have already received confirmation on at least two new cars for tomorrow’s Chaos format.

We also took the first official online registration for the event today.  I was especially pleased  to discover it a name I’d never seen before - - someone new to the Delaware program…  Wonderful to see the registration system working correctly, even better to see new folks joining the fun.

Hey John is Sheridan or any of the other staff planning on entering? I would love to see the illustrious tech officials out there!!! I'm sure some of the other teams would agree 😉

Hey John as a suggestion can we make this a non-perishable food item collection event? I don't think its too much to ask to get people to bring in some food. I think the PR would be awsome for the track and heck people need to eat.

There is at least one tech official with ambitions to compete -- but of course, not as an official.  When staff compete they do so as members of the general public.

There will be a charity component to the event (this was important to me during the organizing phase).  One that was floated was a "your can is your coupon" giving a discount to those who bring canned foods.  That one gets points for being easy to implement.  If you know the details about programs at Flamboro, let me know.

If it were me I would call the London Food Bank and Maybe the Canadian Diabetes Association. They could send a truck to collect the items. If you staffed it use high school students because their time can go against the 40 hours of volunteer community service they are required to put in to graduate. They could be stationed near the pit entrance to collect and then issue a doanation certificate. This certificate could be used for a discount. This would give particiapants a chance to either bring in unwanted clothing items or food items. Everybody wins and the track gets some good PR in the process. As another option do the same for the grandstand side and collect there as well. Maybe FM96 will help promote as Delaware Speedway will be helping the community so much.
I'm not sure how the Flamboro program worked as I didn't attend personaly our team donated two garbage bags loaded with clothes, but we sent them with a mini stock team.
