James Ott
In Delaware Super Stocks, Jim Mair (5) had the pole and was hanging on as an early caution was called at lap 2 for a spin on turns three and four by points leader, Kris Lawrence (28).
At lap four, Jake Ott (60) made his move low as DJ DeJesus (09) got a little loose, and Ott claimed third behind Jared Shields (07). Jason Lidster (11) made it a tight quartet until lap 9 as Shields went sideways heading into turn four. He straightened up and briefly visited the pits as Lidster claimed third spot and Ott, second.
Steven Richmond (24) worked the high side through the halfway mark in a battle for fourth with Darrell Lake (77). At lap 16 Jake Ott made his move on Mair and claimed the lead. At 17, Ott had a dozen car-lengths lead on the rest of the field. Lake took a charge on Richmond and jumped a few spots to second while Richmond claimed third.
Caution at lap 19 for some contact between Lidster and Steve Smith (84) on the back straightaway. Scott Nagy (99) was also caught up. This caused a red flag for fluid cleanup all the way from turn two to turn four.
With four laps left it was Ott, Lake and Richmond with Lidster pushing hard to get past Richmond, whose #24 was dangling a piece of metal off the front right panel.
Ott took the win with Lake, Richmond, Lidster and Smith behind him. It was Ott’s second time on Victory Lane – his first was a week ago.
