Dont think he's saying either, just saying that the 2 is going for a lot of $$$ and that lakes car would probably fetch more if the 9500 is the standard for the 2

I see the #2 car is up for $9500.. omg!!! 😮    says " buy a proven winner" i would hate to see what Lidsters or Lakes car would be worth if they were to sell them

I don't really understand what you are saying with your post.
Are you implying the 2 car is overpriced?
Or are you saying the 77 car has won more then the 2?

And that is one of my questions What would make the 77 car worth more then the 2?

Its pointless dickering over what a race car is worth. Technically they're only worth what the next guy is willing to pay for one. If you're selling, ask high and you might get lucky, or let them talk you down.

As far as a lot of race cars being for sale, I wouldn't read much into that. If you look on the McColls site over the years, guys'll put their equipment up even if they're not getting out. And some guys just perpetually have their stuff up for sale.

What would be more alarming is if there was a lot of guys selling their cars, as well as the trailer, tires, racks, tools and spare parts. That kind of ad points a little more into someone either getting out or moving up.

What?

The whole point of this post is what is with all the cars and trucks for sale.

I was hoping the guys with there stuff for sale or someone who knew them could tell us what is up.

Overpricing a car is like overpricing a house you tend to get the wrong crowd looking at what you are selling if you overprice the crap out of it.

And how would someone selling there tools and trailer tell you they are moving up?

Dickering as you call it over what a race car is worth is interesting.

I like knowing what guys put into there thought of what the value of one is.

So if I was asked the 2 car and the 77 are in the same ball park as each other and here is my list as to why.
The both have new or newer rear ends and axles and both spent somewhere in the neighborhood of 1400.00 doing there rear end.
The 2 cars new crate has 8 races on it and the 77 have 2 full season basically a wash.
Both chassis's have not been bent.
Both have the best bolt ons you can buy.
The 2 car since in has been made into a SS has won 5 features and the 77 car has won 2 features again a wash if you ask me.
What is the 11 car worth not sure what does a championship add to the value of a car?
No matter what car you were to buy the 2, 11 or the 77 you can bet you would be buying the best available.
3 Great races teams that don't skimp on what make a race car fast.

And none of the three skimp on the safety of the cars. Knowing the time and effort, let alone the money, that goes into any of these cars, in better economic times the price would be higher. Shadow is right. What they are worth is secondary to what people are willing to pay. So no rumours get started, the 77 super stock is not for sale at this time but we appreciate being mentioned in such great company.
