Give them a call, let them know your points and lets get a set of rules that are good and don't cost a lot to the racers and the LOCK THEM IN for 3 to 5 years with NO CHANGES except for safety. That way you can stop worrying about what you have to buy next year to keep up and just concentrate on racing and perfecting your set up.
The thread was started, you voiced your opinions, and I voiced my mine. That's three off-seasons where we've had to spend hundreds and hundreds of dollars to conform to new rules, rather than just freshening the thing and going racing.
I don't mean to just complain, I talk about plenty of other stuff on CRO; but when a thread is started, I discuss it. I love racing but damn, none of it is simple or financially feasible anymore. At least not locally. You could just say "ah you're acting like an old prick" but I'm only 32! The last full season of racing I ran up in North Bay cost a fraction of what we have to do here, even in the Trucks. But I've raced two partial seasons at Delaware and both of them (one SS, one Truck) were spent scrambling to play catch up, taking forever to get the Car, then Truck mechanically reliable, and then finding out I have to change it all again. It's frustrating.
In the end our #1 problem is getting to the track with zero Practice time, scrambling after work on a Friday night, getting there with barely enough time to roll it off the trailer before the Driver's Meeting starts. BUT I'm not complaining about that, there was a poll last year about switching to Saturdays and most were in favour of staying on Fridays. That's no one's fault but mine and my (mostly former) team, but with our work schedules it's very, very hard to be efficient on Fridays.
I have some other ideas rolling around in my head on what to do next season. I don't know if it will involve Delaware or not. Regardless I'd like the Truck class to succeed, it has the KIND of racing Delaware sorely needs to keep fans excited.
These rule changes are for 2013-15 so they are locked in which is one thing that everyone has been asking for. Looks like SS has the most rules changes allowed to conform to. 8" tires allowed in trucks is good.I hope this year the track gets more people up top to watch the quality racing that we can all put on. This is my hobby. I do not go on trips down south to get a tan. I'd rather index spark plugs. Racing is a big puzzle and its takes a bunch of pieces. Takes time and its finding the right ones to fit that bring success. Hope all the teams find the pieces needed for 2013.
I heard back gate prices are going up to like 35$ and that the track wants to take 20$ off each position in the purse for the weekly events ???
Alot of these superstock rule changes wont make any one that just built new super stock chassis from mccolls the last year or so very happy.

Wow, raise the price to those who are the show, lower the payout to offset the cause, and remember the promoters have been caught with engine and ignition box rule infractions in the past. Time for an impartial, well organized racing individual to be in charge.
