Just wondering what everybody thought of the 2008 schedule.  I think it looks quite good and a nice amount of visiting series.  The only complaint I have is the APC 300 schedule, with the late models qualifying on Saturday.  I really don't like that.  I have come to enjoy the 1 day show and while I respect their reasonings for doing this (add more crowd to Saturday), I really think it will limit drivers from showing as a lot of tracks are still running that weekend. The one day show reminded me of races 20 years ago when they you would go not knowing who would show up.  Some of the tracks in the US, for their bigger shows at year end ( Toledo, Dixie, Berlin, etc) have gone back to the 1 -day show.  I really think it opens itself up more to travelling drivers. I know there is a Last Chance race scheduled for the Sunday, but that puts all of those guys at the back of the pack. Another thing is, I can't afford to go to both days, but I do like qualifying.  What does everyone think?

agree with you. Definitely like the one day shows better. I used to suspect that some promoters were trying to make money from the campers by having two days shows (where camping was at extra cost). I know I won't make two 200 mile round trips just to see qualifying and the feature, so I'll likely just go for the feature only.

2 days, 2 days of money for the promoters.
2 days, one pay off.
Majority of people that show up for both days are involved with the racers some how or real die-hards. You sure dont see a father bringing his family of 4 or 5 out both nights usually.
One year Flamboro had the 2 day Octoberfest and didnt even get the second day in. Drivers got nothing for their efforts and fans got to use ticket as a rain check for following season. So your $30 rain cheque was your $15 admission the following year.

I can see it being a pain for fans, but I can see a one-day show being a very long day for teams as well...
