Two weeks from Cornwall Motor Speedway opening night!
Cornwall, Ont –Sunday, May 1st, 2016 – Martin Bélanger – The days are coming down before the start of the new season at Cornwall Motor Speedeway as we are only 2 weeks away from opening night scheduled for Sunday, May 15th.
A new champ in the Pro-Stock?
We might see a new track champion in the Alexandria Home Hardware Pro-Stock division as Dave Bissonnette announced that he will concentrate on some DIRTcar Series and other series in Central New-York, we will see the #47 car on several occasions at the speedway which will put him out of contention opening the door to other competitors. Veteran runner George Renaud will want to have consistent season in 2016 which could secure him a first title but he will not be alone as division veterans such as Stephane Lebrun and Rock Aubin will be chasing Renaud. You can also count on young gun CD Beauchamp to be in the mix as he captured 3 features wins last season. Some newcomers will run with the veteran as Justin Desrosiers and Francis Desjardins will race for the rookie of the year title.
Similar scenario in the Mini-Stock?
Just like in Pro-Stock, we could have a new champion in the Polar Sound DJ Services as Jean-Francois Page announced that he would not be a regular in the division for 2016. Marc Dagenais will look to replace Page in that position as he finished second in the point’s title in 2015. Competition will be fierce as the category will bring a great mix of veterans and new drivers.
