Terrance, Lalancette, Poirier, Lebrun, Chaput and Page winners at Cornwall Motor Speedway!

Cornwall, Ont – Sunday, July 26, 2015 – Martin Bélanger – A busy night as the Ultimate Pro-Stock Series was in town for two 25-lap events as well as the Canada-Usa Lightning Sprint Challenge and a complete race program. The Semi-Pro had a night off on Speedy Glass.

David Papineau took the lead in the 30-lap Bandit Motorsports Modified Feature, he led the first nine laps as caution played in favor of Chris Herbison taking the lead on that restart. On the following lap, an accident occurred in turn 4, everyone was able to rejoin the field. Herbison headed to the pits having issues with his car giving the lead to Lee Ladouceur just before halfway point as Carey Terrance and Brian McDonald were running in the top 3. Yellow lights were out with only 9 laps to go. On the restart, Carey Terrance did a slide job on Ladouceur and grabs the leads as Gage Morin was able to move up top second spot. Caution occurred with only 2 laps to go. Terrance led the final laps to notch his second win of the season over Gage Morin and Ladouceur.

Brianna Ladouceur used the high lane and took the lead in the 25-lap Wheeler-Forget Royal Lepage Sportsman feature. Ladouceur led the first fifteen laps when Corey Wheeler passed her. Starting in the 11th spot, Justin Lalancette was really strong on the top side and surprised Wheeler with 4 laps to go and won his first feature in his career over Wheeler and Ladouceur.

In the first 25-lap Ultimate Pro-Stock Series, Stephane Lebrun took the lead over Rosco Garreau and Jocelyn Roy. First caution occurred on lap 2 with Richard Bertrand stopping in turn 2. Lebrun continued to lead with Roy now in second spot and George Renaud joining the leaders with 10 laps completed. A few caution slowed the race before the halfway point. Lebrun continued to lead with Renaud and Dave Bissonnette. Lebrun went on to lead the final portion of the race as he won his second feature in a row at Cornwall and first in the Ultimate Series.

Steve Chaput took the lead in the second Ultimate Pro-Stock feature, Chaput had to resists at charges from Dave Bissonnette starting at halfway point. Chaput used the top side of the speedway perfectly to claim the 25-lap event and collects his first win in Cornwall and second in the Ultimate Series.

Jordan Poirier dominated the 25-lap Lightning Sprint Canada-USA, taking the lead on the initial green, Poirier finished the caution free event with more than a half track lead over Alex Therrien and Guillaume Nedeirer.

A nice field of 18 cars took the green in the 12-lap Polar Sound DJ Services feature. Mike Gaucher quickly got to the lead with JF Page running in second by halfway point. Gaucher started to have issues with his car and faded giving the lead to Page. He never looked back and won his second feature in a row over Chris James and Riley McMonagle.

A very big night next week as the third round of the Bandit Motorsports Canadian Nationals will be presented with a 150-lap Modified event as well as the lone visit of the Go Nuclear Late Model Series. The pits should be packed for this excellent evening of racing!
