DIRTcar Modified Regional Series and Lightning Sprints this Sunday at Cornwall Motor Speedway!
Cornwall, Ont –Thursday, August 12, 2016 – Martin Bélanger – Le Cornwall Motor Speedway will have another exciting program this coming Sunday at the Lightning Sprint will return for a second time this season. The Modifieds will have a 50-lap event counting towards the DIRTcar Regional Series along with a qualifier for Super DIRT Week. A complete race program is on the schedule as the Sportsman will have their Dash for Cash as the Mini-Stock will have a night off.
During their initial trip in July, Guillaume Nedeirer had won the event over Alex Therrien and Jordan Poirier, this fast trio will be joined by the similar group that had made the haul to Cornwall as they will have a 25-lap event.
The Bandit Motorsports Modified division will have an important evening as it will count towards the DIRTcar Regional Series. The 50-lap event will also offer to the winner a coveted spot for the 358-Modified feature race during Super DIRT Week held at Oswego. Drivers will qualify via time trial rounds as well as heat race permitting invaders to have a chance in a great starting spot for the feature race.
The results are in! Justin Lalancette will start first in the Sportsman Dash for Cash in front of Brianna Ladouceur, Gilles Godard, Shane Pecore, Jessica Power and Tristan Draper, they will have a 4-lap dash. A 25-lap event is scheduled for the Tracy Wheeler Storm Realty Sportsman division.
The Alexandria Home Hardware Pro-Stock with a 20-lap feature and the Polar Sound DJ Services Novice Sportsman with a 15-lap event will also be on the racing card as the Mini-Stock will have a night off.
The pit gates will open at 4pm and costs will be 25$ in the pit area. General admission will open its doors at 5pm and costs will be $15 for adults, 8$ for seniors and only 2$ for 16 years old and younger. Time trials will start at 6:30pm for Sportsman as the first heat will be run at 7pm.
