Sounds like CAPITAL CITY of OLD  ::), more interested in the JUNK ( rock fest , country fest , drive your street car on the track )than the RACE that people want to see.

so has anyone heard yet whether the race today was a go or not??

Big fiasco in my opinion but web site says ' RAIN WRECK ANOTHER BIG RACE FOR CAPITAL CITY SPEEDWAY
FANS WENT AWAY HAPPY WITH WHAT WE DID GET IN THOUGH'

This fan did not go away happy. With rainout sat I thought I would not be going since I had to be going elsewhere at 4 pm. But the web site ( and apparently the phone person) said that gates would open sunday at 9 with racing at 10. To me racing means heat 1 of something so I figure  LM feature will be long over by 4 pm so I went to the track. Got there right at 9 along with others. Nothing on the track between 9 and 10. Then does racing start. NO! They practice and do hot laps for almost 2 1/2 hours, even the 4-4 fun got to practice. Practice stops about 12:15 and announcer says racing in 3 minutes. Close to 1 pm before the 1st heat of late models. then they run other class heats all the while that it's getting cloudier. Didn't they have anyone who could check the radar map. Well as we get to the end of 2nd heats it's sprinkling. Thunder heat 2 is delayed and then get it in and legends 2nd heat. It's too damp on track for the LM 100 lapper so they bring out the monster trucks for a demo. One of them is brainless and goes down near turns 3 and 4 and loops in the infield spewing mud all over the track. Then does a bit of the front straight. Now as it continues to sprinkle they have to clean the mud off kicking it, brooming it and fortunately they have a small blower. Then they announce next race will be the enduro so as it was already after 3 pm I just left. I went to see LM racing not the other entertainment as did others who are probably as p e e d as me. If they had started racing earlier the LM's would have  went. And I don't like it that they said racing would be at 10 and started almost 3 hours after that.

There 16 LMs there, only Jackson and Watson from KD but about 5 from Quebec.

SO DID THEY EVER GET RUNNING THE LM 100 LAPPER & IF SO WHO WON IT?

That is the exact reason we ( Mercer 81 ) didn't go and probably never will go back to Ottawa. The 71 of McHattie the same reason I'm sure. When we did travel up to Ottawa for one of the 100 lappers the forecast was brutal but never having raced there, we took the chance and went. We called the track before we left and he assured us that every possible thing would be done to get the show in on raceday or the next day, Sunday. It rained most of the drive there but the clouds did clear just before 3 o'clock, if I remember correctly. They started to dry off the track and we were told by track management that they had been in contact with the airport and that we had about a 5 hour window before the rain came again. They again said they would do everything they could to get the show in. After about half an hour the track drying stopped and they called a drivers meeting to say the race was postponed to Sunday BUT NO LATE MODELS. We had hotel rooms booked and had checked in to them just in case the race was to be run Sunday. That's what we were told would happen. If not for the very understanding management at our hotel our team as a whole would have been out close to $750 in hotel costs. Unbelievably the hotel refunded us 100% even though we had already checked in. Besides the blatant lies regarding getting the show in, the owner has quite an attitude. When one of the Kawartha drivers mentioned a partial refund he was asked in a more that snotty way, " have you ever been to a race track before?" by the track owner. Yes we have . But we have never been blatantly lied to regarding rain dates. That is why we were asking. After taking some heat the owner did refund our money but the attitude he had was enough. He really screwed up this CCS / Kawartha deal that looked quite promising from the start with that attitude and his lies. First impressions mean alot and his was anything but good. To travel that far to get rained out is bad enough, but a chance we knowingly took. But to be treated like that! I doubt you'll see us there again and I am not speaking for the 71 team, but I would bet they won't either. Not to mention Jackson and Watson. They've taken it up the hoop twice now. Man we sure have it good at Kawartha. Lynch would never pull a stunt like that.

Oh and by the way. Our drive home from Ottawa after the rainout was sunshine almost the whole drive. THE AIRPORT WAS RIGHT !!! >:( >:( >:(

I left at 3:15 and the rain followed me east to the city and then south to home so I figured I would not be missing the LM 100 but was out 25 bucks because that's all I wanted to see. The track website complained that there was a bad weather forecast of "sun and 30% chance of rain." Well that means 1 out 3 times it might rain and this was the one. If they had started racing an hour sooner we might have got the 100 run. Anyone know why they advertised 10 am start of racing and didn't go until 1 pm? And at 12:15 the announcer said they were moving the show ahead? A cynic might even think that the track saw it in their best interest as the fan show wasn't what they wanted that they could save the purse money if the race didn't go. They claim they want to build th LM's but that didn't help. Did they give any tow money?

They tried a co championship  ( CASCAR sportsman cars ) before when Penny Bell was running things between Ottawa and St Eustache it was a flop as well.
