from CCS website:
Canadian Tire Nascar driver, and someone who is no stranger to Capital City Speedway, Derek Lynch of Norwood, Ontario has committed to run the entire points race series at CCS in 2009. Yes things just got a whole lot more exciting for Late Model Fans here in the Ottawa area as Derek confirmed by mail this week his intentions to run for the Championship and a spot at the ACT event at Lowden New Hampshire in Sept as part of the Nascar weekend. 38 year old Lynch who has been racing at Capital City Speedway since he was a teenager is also the manager of Kawartha Speedway, a track we have worked hand in hand with in our attempts to rebuild our late model car count. The announcement in the middle of winter about the ACT effort with Nascar, and the inclusion of the ACT Late Models  as a support class for the Nascar Sprint Cup weekend in Lowden has done just what we expected it would do, and we are tickled pink. Lynch who currently also drives in the Canadian Tire Nascar Series, where he managed a victory in last year at Cayuga will be a formidable contender to say the least. His accomplishments have been very extensive, and his stock car background even more so. Spending many years working as a fabricator for some of Nascar's greatest drivers including Bobby Allison Motorsports, Darrell Waltrip Motorsports, Dale Earnhardt, Inc., and Stavola Bros. Racing. He won he won the Late Model Sportsman championship at Peterborough Speedway at the rip old age of 15, and didn't stop there after. He also holds the title of being the only Canadian to win the Oxford 250, one of the richest and toughest events in the US. So yes this is very good news for the speedway, and even more so for the fans who love Late Model racing, with Lynch in the picture, rumors of others possibly, the possible return of Steve Munro full time, Spencer MacPherson's chase for the championship and all of our regulars having a say, including three time champ Rick Rump, IT IS GOING TO BE GOOD.

agree with the above post-somehow the pr folks forgot Biederman, Hanley and Whitlock, although Lynch may have been one of the last to win it in an old style Nascar North type sportsman car.

Heard Lynch was running second when he got into it with a lapped car.
Where did he finish?
How many cars were in the feature?
