i agree but i like his candidness in interviews....
I just wish he would get to the point in them instead of syaing ummmm ahhh umm lip smack, lip smack....then talk slowly like u just walked accross the sahara with more umms and ahhhs...
lol ya true of late...he seems to have a little more personality than most but i guess because he knows whatever he says he's not gonna get canned or dropped...
You all say Dale Jr. should dump Tony Jr. - or at least some of you. Well, here's my theory on this.
1) Yes, Tony Jr. has made some dumb calls though if you look at some of them, they do have logic and maybe they'll work. You have to look back at the fact that Tony Jr. has been brilliant this year with the fact of Michigan & Charlotte. Sure, you can say that this past weekend didn't work out. But Tony Jr. knew they'd get a finish in the teens and considering their shot at a title is through, he decided to take a chance. Who can blame him? What if it worked out and they got a win or at least a top 5?
2) The logic behind why the car isn't always handling up to par IMO is a combination of both of them. They're cousins - hard-headed and can be a pain towards each other. Rick Hendrick himself has reconized this and therefore is trying to help them with advice - as we seen when we discussed the NASCAR.com article following New Hampshire. Rick helped mend the differences between Chad Knaus & Jimmie Johnson following the '05 season and look what that's created. We've seen dominance that is past the bounds that we've seen lately. In discussion, we've discovered that Dale Jr. does have to tell more about the car - so Thayne is definately on to something with how it's Dale Jr. Though part of it would also be considered with Tony Jr. due to the conversations between them, and we've seen an improvement in the conversation. It may not be obvious with where they're finishing on track, though it's slowly working.
