Earl Ross will be honoured by his home town of Ailsa Craig Ontario on December 1 2007. I believe the ceremony is at 1pm at the community centre. The road signs will be changed to comemorate them as Earls Home Town.
All well wishers are encouraged to attend. Earls contribution to not only the local racing but also nationaly in Canada is second to none. He has been an insperation to many a local racer to follow their driving asperations.
Congates Earl .

Thanks for the info. This is really nice to see!

I'd to attend! I've been a fan of his since I was a teenager back in the late 60's, when I used to jump in the old farm truck and head over to Flamboro.

Thanks for the info. I was always a major fan of Earls in my younger days and after becoming an official at delaware and then the super series I got to know him on a personal level. Always a class individual. I will be there.

Earl was my first racing hero, and was probably one of the best ambassadors the sport had IMO. I can remember seeing him and his car in many a parade and exhibition, and he was gracious and professional every time I ever met him...not to mention he was dynamite behind the wheel. I was a little young during the initial Carling years. To me, he'll always be the guy with the Coke-Can paintjob.

Best memory though was watching him cross the finish line to win the McKerlie Millen 200 in the Ron Box #68. Crowd went bananas.

Too bad I'm already booked up for the day. I'd love to be there.

My first memories of Earl was at Flamboro. He had a little Chevy II or something with a small block taking on guys like Dick Van Dyke with a 427 Ford Tunnel Port and Howie Scannel with his 426 Dodge Hemi. He'd blow the doors off of them in the corners, but those guys had it on the straightaway. Then he finally got his 427 Rat Camaro. Man, those were the good old days!
