Sounds like some great stuff was happening on track tonight. Wish I had some SpeedTv around here.

Anyone have any more details to share now?

Start of the race, JR steadily advanced Rod. He was playing it safe or studying for the most part and stayed down on the inside. Then the guys up front caused the big one, I don't know how he managed to avoid it, but got the "move of the race" award for it. I think he managed to work his way up to P2 at one point, then with pit stop stategy later in the race, his crew cheif got him to P1 but with older tires. Well he was out front, it seemed like for 20 laps or so, holding off Kurt Busch on new tires, JR finally slid up a bit, Busch took advantage and JR got shuffled to the back and started working his way up again, when someone brought out the caution behind him. Well JR's crew cheif called him in for his last set of tires with something like 10 laps remaining. By the time JR took the green he was at the back with about 8 laps to go and began working his way back to the front again on the inside. I think if his spotter at have got him up to the outside on the last lap or 2, he would have won it, there was an opening there, and the 2'nd line was coming! Anyways, he just did a superb job! I'll bet his Dad is some proud!

I think he gave the sponsors a lot of great air time as they were mentioning him all the time.

Man did he dodge that wreck and kick up some dust.

I love how the guys on speed say he was the Canadian champion. In what beach volley ball? Did they every say CASCAR Champion or Nascar Canadian Tire series Champion tonight? (As when people talk about past champions they seem to forget other sponsored NASCAR before Sprint did)

I actually thought it was going to be another one of those nights when they called him the CASCAR champion and that the biggest track he had raced on in Canada was 1/4 mile. Yes they actually said that.   ::)  Later in the broadcast when JR was staying up front and then leading someone must have done a google serch and found out some facts for them. They later said he was the NASCAR Canada Champion and even mentioned Cayuga Speedway.

Heard the CASCAR name early and the one pit reporter was stuck on the 1/4 mile thing, even repeated it in the post race interview.  ???  The guys upstairs were getting better colour support though.  Mostly ignored him untill he avoided the big wreck, even though he was running top 10 mostly till then.  Mikey seems to like him all of a sudden but I'm not sure if that's a good thing.  😉

He did a great job and it was probably the best post race interview I've seen him do.

those american idiots that commentated the race are total morons. i was getting so pissed when they just flat refused to mention JR even when he was running up in the front pack. all they said was james buesher over and over, THEN all of a sudden JR was the man of the show! Well JR, you did an absolutely amazing job and i'm sure i speak for all racers in canada when i say, you represented a whole country and we couldn't be prouder of you and your team. best of luck this year!
