Weese Racing Anti-Bullying Night This Saturday At Brighton Speedway

By Clayton Johns

BRIGHTON (August 17, 2015) – Brighton Speedway welcomes the 4th annual Caley Weese Racing Anti-Bullying night this Saturday presented by Towne and Country Liquidation and Read’s Accounting. A full night of racing is on tap with the Gord’s Water Vantastics scheduled for their final race of the season. The Vanderlaan Building Products RUSH Pro Late Models, Bainer’s OilGARD Canadian Modifieds, Brighton Automotive Pro Stocks and Bill’s Johns Comp 4s are all on the schedule.

Anti-Bullying Night

The track is excited for the 4th annual Caley Weese Racing Anti-Bullying night at the track. Brighton Speedway is committed to helping eliminate bullying by supporting Caley Weese’s campaign. Fans who wear their bright yellow Weese Racing Anti-Bullying t-shirts will have their picture taken with Caley Weese and the rest of the anti-bullying supporters on the front stretch during intermission. Anti-bullying t-shirts will be for sale for $10 on race day.

Pro Late Models Chasing Sandercock

Trenton native and current point leader Charlie Sandercock asserted his dominance last week in the Vanderlaan Building Products RUSH Pro Late Model division with a convincing seventh win of the season at Brighton. The win clinched the inaugural Hotch’s Auto Parts Triple Crown for the Pro Late Models. Phil Potts, Kyle Sopaz, Adam Turner and Corey Earl are the four other victors at the track this year. A number f other drivers are hungry to earn a victory, including Steve Baldwin, who sits fifth in the current championship standings. Wooler driver Adam Nayler appeared to turn over a new leaf last week with a second-place finish. Caley Weese will be in search of her first career win on her special anti-bullying night as well. It should all combine for an exciting showdown this Saturday.

Modified Chase Getting Closer

Andrew Hennessy closed the gap on fellow Picton native Dan Ferguson at the top of the championship standings by 10 points with his third win of the season last week. Ferguson’s 145-point advantage will be tough to overcome, but five races remain on the 2015 calendar for the Canadian Modifieds with a double points night to factor in as well. Doug O’Blenis, Curtis King and Shawn Gregory complete the current top-five in the championship standings.

Rossmore Rocket Continues To Roll

Justin Ramsay continues to dominate the Brighton Automotive Pro Stock division. He won his eighth feature of the season last Saturday night in convincing fashion after Mike Freeman was forced to the pit area with overheating problems with just three laps to go. Ramsay’s 335-point surplus in the championship standings puts him in the drivers seat heading in to the final five races this year. Doug Anderson will certainly dig deep in hopes of earning his sixth consecutive championship.

Reid Chasing Mills For Comp 4 Crown

Brighton’s Autin Reid sits just 60 points behind Trenton’s Shelby Mills for the point lead in the Bill’s Johns Comp 4 division. The gap represents just six feature finishing positions separating the two drivers. Neither driver has won a championship previously and makes it a dramatic race to the finish over the next month. Tyler French is 125 points off the lead and sits third in the championship standings. Adam Chapman and Emily Weedman sit fourth and fifth, respectively.

Tickets Please!

General Admission for Saturday’s Weese Racing Anti-Bullying Night presented by Towne and Country Liquidating and Read’s Accounting is just $10. A Family Pass is just $25 and is valid for two adults and two children under the age of 16 and includes family-size popcorn. Seniors and Youths are $8.

Spectator gates will open at 5:30pm. Hot laps are scheduled for 6:00pm. The first green flag is set for 7:00pm.
