Racing Action Soaked Again

For Immediate Release

Brighton Speedway Officials were forced to call the races early on Saturday for the second attempt at the Leon’s of Trenton School Bus races.  Originally rescheduled from June 12th, the bus races were set to go along with the Bainers Radiator Canadian Modifieds, Brighton Automotive Pro Stocks, Bill’s Johns Comp 4 and Quinte Towing Stingers for a night of action, however once again Mother Nature had her own plans.  Persistent rains throughout the day forced management to call the races around 2pm due to the saturated grounds.  “It was doubtful that we would have been able to get the track into racing shape on time and the pit area was a muddy mess” stated track prep crew John French.

Also on the card for the washed out evening was the 2010 Brighton Speedway Wall of Fame Inductions, the Eastern Ontario Vintage Stock Car Club and the Motorsports of Trenton Flat Track 4-Wheelers.  Track General Manager Angie Rinaldi affirmed “At this point in time we are getting in touch with sponsors, the Wall of Fame Inductees as well as the racers of the busses and 4-Wheelers to see if and when it is best to reschedule the events.  Keep an eye on brightonspeedway.com for details”.  The Vintage cars will not be rescheduled but are set to return to the Speedway on August 28th and September 24th for action at the Brighton Speedway. Ticket holders from June 12th can redeem their tickets on Saturday, July 3rd for the Canada Day Championships or on Saturday, July 17th for the Mid-Summer Scorcher.

On a positive note Brighton Speedway and some of our great sponsors have announced the first ever Mid-Summer Scorcher Event on Saturday, July 17th.  Brighton Speedway Late Models and Canadian Modified will be taking on some of the best drivers in their classes from upstate New York as we present this unique invitational event.  Late Models will compete for a cool $1,500.00 to win 40 lap main event while the Canadian Modifieds will take on the best IMCA Modifieds for $1,000.00 to win in a 30 lap shootout.  There will also be additional laps and a bonus to the winners of the Pro Stocks and the Comp 4.  July is just around the corner and expected to be hot,  expect nothing less from the racing at Brighton Speedway so make sure you plan on being here all summer long!

Sponsors of the 2010 Mid-Summer Scorcher are; Larry's Towing, Humber Nurseries, DL Services, Deerhaven Farm and Garden, Hotch's Auto Parts, Northumberland Tire and Vanderlaan Building Supplies.  Complete details can be found by emailing info@brightonspeedway.com or on the web at www.brightonspeedway.com

Join us next Saturday when Brighton Automotive presents the Canada Day Championships.  Extra distance laps and extra money are on the line for drivers of the Vanderlaans Building Supplies Late Models, Bainers Radiator Canadian Modifieds, Brighton Automotive Pro Stocks and Bills John's Comp 4 divisions.  Time trials start at 5pm, racing starts at 7pm and the HUGE Mystical Distributing FIREWORKS show will go off at dusk!  Brighton Speedway, where a night of family entertainment is turned into a night of excitement!  For complete details visit www.brightonspeedway.com or email info@brightonspeedway.com
