Fan Appreciation Night and Double Features Presented By Bellevue Fabricating and Campbellford Chrysler This Saturday At Brighton Speedway

By Clayton Johns

BRIGHTON (July 28, 2015) – Brighton Speedway is excited to welcome fans for the second Fan Appreciation night of the season presented by Bellevue Fabricating and Campbellford Chrysler to kick start the month of August. Fans will also be treated to double features in three divisions after rain postponed the second half of last Saturday’s program. Fans will want to arrive early for an opportunity to see some of the finest vehicles from Campbellford Chrysler and JJ Stewart Motors out front of the speedway. Everybody in attendance will have the chance to meet their favourite drivers on the track for photos and autographs at intermission.

RUSH Pro Late Models

The Vanderlaan Building Products RUSH Pro Late Models will race double features this week. The first race will be a 35-lap showdown for the second round of the inaugural Hotch’s Auto Parts Pro Late Model Triple Crown. The drivers will then reload for qualifying heats and a 30-lap feature.

Charlie Sandercock will start on the pole for the first race after winning his qualifying heat last Saturday night. He also maintains the point lead ahead of Corey Earl, Phil Potts, Steve Baldwin, and Kyle Sopaz.

Canadian Modifieds

The Bainer’s OilGARD Canadian Modifieds will also engage in two 25-lap features on the night. The Mods will run their first feature before beginning qualifying heats for the second main event on the evening. Dan Ferguson and Andrew Hennessy claimed the qualifying heats before the rain washed out the night. Kraig Handley and Mike Lucas will bring the field to green for the first race.

Pro Stocks

The Brighton Automotive Pro Stocks are the third division to face double features this week. Their 20-lap make-up event will see Ryan Connor and Jonah Mutton on the front row. The second main event will be the final 25-lap race of the Larry’s Towing Pro Stock Triple Crown. Justin Ramsay continues to lead the championship standings. Mutton and Ramsay won the qualifying heats last Saturday.

Comp 4

The Bill’s Johns Comp 4s were the only division to complete their feature last Saturday when Tyler French earned his sixth feature win of the season over teammate Shelby Mills. The two Dirty Fast Racing cars have combined to win 8 of 9 features this season and hold the top two spots in the championship standings. Austin Reid finished third last week and sits third in the standings. The Brighton youngster is more than due to claim his first win this week.

Gord’s Water Vantastics

The Gord’s Water Vantastics return to the speedway for their second visit of the season. Mike Freeman scored the victory in the mini vans last event and the Pro Stock regular will look to park his No.51 Oldsmobile back in victory lane again.
